Is there a problem w/ ETS TMIC

so i have noticed on the for sale forum, that as of lately there have been a lot of ETS TMIC for sale, is there something wrong with them that a bunch of people on different forums and this one that have been selling them for.

IM interested in the TMIC thats why i ask, as i know most people dont want to buy a shotty product.

nothing wrong with mine, but it will be for sale soon after i install the FMIC. (Only reason i bought the FMIC is because of the maps for the AP)

Parting out or upgrading to a better unit are probably the 2 best reasons. ETS one is coming out soon, There are now several FMIC options available. etc. etc. etc.

Just picked up a used ETS 3.5 inch TMIC tonight. Hella busy, but I'm gonna have some time in the next few days to get it on. Quality looks absoulely top notch and I've heard they make just as much power as a FMIC, even more than some custom fmics I've seen. Not getting into a heatsoak discussion here.

The only negative I've come across is the ETS 3.5 hitting the firewall under hard acceleration if your mount isn't stiff enough. I've got the cs inserts, I hope they are alright

I trimmed off about a 1/2 inch off the back shroud with an angle grinder. fixed that problem.

If you arent gonna go with huge upgrades IE:bigger turbo, then stick with the 3 1/4.

I heard differently. I heard approx 10 horses for the 3.25 and 20 for the 3.5. I can't prove anything, but this is what I heard.

you heard wrong.


There were several tests back in early 07 and anything bigger than a 3 inch core netted no gain with the stock turbo.


These intercoolers work better than stock mainly due to flow characteristics and less with regard to actual cooling capacity IIRC. I mean, they do cool better...but the seat of the pants feeling is largely due to flow.

Oh, and I've had two 3.25s and about 30,000 miles on both combined. No complaints at all.

I just picked up a used ETS 3.5" TMIC. Can't wait to get it and put it on. Can't really drive the car hard though because I broke my friggen foot last week and can't drive much

well that is good to know. I always heard they were good but all of a sudden, boom everyone is selling them, I want one right now but I cant get the wife on board! DAMNIT, and I also want to do more suspension work Eibach Springs and wheels and tires. Since with my mods Im not keepin Traction in 1st & 2nd anyways and I think the TMIC will just add to that problem!!
