get those tests done ASAP
Tranny is weak sauce in this car be weary.. Mine was rebuilt @21k miles and I only mis shifted a few times. Car will be someone else's problem waiting to happen at 59k
Really? I haven't heard that from any of the guys running bigger turbos, meth etc. Even the ms6 guys aren't breaking them and it's under a lot more stress with their 4wd. You only miss shifted a few times?? I don't think the problem is the tranny in your case.
IMO, the tranny in this car is strong. However if you abuse it, it could break like with any mechanical device.

To the OP: You should take one of the dealer mechanics for a long test drive to see if you can reproduce it. And I wouldn't tell them what really happened. Upon hearing your story they'll immediately think abuse, then probably void your warranty.
Read through some of the other forums...
My tranny has been beat to heck, I load the transmision hard up and down the rpm band spin tires alot. Almost every weekend I go out on the backroads and drive like i am at the track so was surprised to hear of drivetrain failure and the car is fairly modified. But the downshift is bad. sorry over revving the engine that far must have bent or weakened something and I agree should be checked out for damage before damage is done. Yes the fellow should be worried to drive it until his mechanic gives him the green light again. You ****** up and its best to deal with it now and admit to your mechanic what happened. We all have stupid s*** happen so just get it looked at and do what you gotta do. Maybe the top end of the motor is fine. At least you will be able to drive with peace of mind good luck NKP
I've had my license for 2.5 years now and got my first stick-shift car just over a week ago. I was careless and ended up shifting from a nice, cozy 6th gear down to 2nd by accident when I was shooting for 4th. Yeah, I was a total idiot and blah blah blah. It only hit 2nd for HALF a second but it was enough for my tires to lock up and my RPM guage to show 8k...T_T. After that, I've been hearing sounds every so often when my car's creeping at ~1-3MPH. When the sound shows up, it makes the sound everytime the front-right tire makes a full circle (sound only on front-right side). Any idea what the problem can be? I took it back to the dealer and they said it's covered by warranty completely but since I couldn't duplicate the sound in front of them, they didn't know what to look for. If it happened EVERY time, I'd have it fixed by now but it only occurs every so often and it's been happening less frequently lately. Any idea what's broken/damaged?
Is the car brand new with less than 1000 miles?
Iguess you will have to wait it out, till the sound is regular enough for them to hear it hopefully its just a shaft joint and probably is. i was just worried that something like that might have damaged valvetrain. I bet its not that bad
I have just under 900 miles so far. It's pretty much BRAND NEW since I got it 2 weeks ago.
It's actually not making that noise anymore. I think I heard it once for maybe half a second yesterday. So...does this mean the problem's not as bad as it could've been? Is my baby okay, doctors?
Kids get dropped on their heads all the time too they are also resilient and recover!
But kids have cells and such. My car will just...slowly kill itself! My poor girlfriend (car...>_>), she is in so much pain and she can't express it but to cry to me whenever I push her too hard! Oh how her moans make me tear up so! Her cries of joy are wondrous, but her cries her sorrow make me feel like donating a kidney.
