I've been speaking with the owner of the car over the past few days, and he said he absolutely can't wait for it to dry up down in Florida so he can really beat on it. But he did say that the car is an animal, and looking at the dyno graph I don't doubt him. These are exciting times for the Mazdaspeeds!

I'm curious as to how you get that kind of power to the ground, I'm mostly stock and have broken traction in 2nd from a roll.

Either bigger tires or you partial throttle. Honestly though you just spin tires at that amount of power. But once in 3rd you make up for it. Its what plagues all FWD cars.

Could you find out what the before mods were?
Okay, for those who may or may not be following my little journey into modding my Speed3 heres the low. I strated modding my car with cp-e tbe/cp-e cai. I then got the cp-e standback2/cp-e fmic/cp-e MM. I ran on the dyno and pushed 297whp/300wtq on moderate pulls. The pulls done in 4th and were moderate at around 4,500 rpms @16psi on a hot day in South Florida.

Now, my goal is 350whp/320ish wtq daily. Heres where I stand. I am looking into different manifolds. Maybe even have one fabbed up. The turbocharger I am looking into is the GT3071R I believe its called. I am looking into the bolt up kit for that. The wastegate is a completely different animal. I want an internal wastegate so it shoots back into the exhaust. YADA YADA the divorced wastegate sounds better but I want to do what is RIGHT for the car. This specific turbo is rated for 450HP...My goal is 350HP. The reason for this...To make it more efficient. Keep the turbo way inside its efficiency range. The result, a little more lag, better fual economy, better turbo life, and the power there when I want to really move! What are people thoughts on this? My driving style is very calm but I like to get on it when appraoching highways or just plain passing the slow-ass drivers in Florida. Thoughts?

As for bigger tires/rims here's what he's rolling on:

Sooooooo my 17x9 Enkei RP-F1's showed up today!!!! They are super hot and they are a +45. I have an 18inch RP-F1 as well to compare it too from my accidente! I love the way the spokes come out to the rim instead of out then down into the rim like the 18x7.5....yuck!

I am on the waiting list for the Dunlop Star Specs which will be 235/40/17. They arrive in the Georgia warehouse on the 25th of August and ship out the 26th!!!!

I'll try to post pics later.
