What have you done to your P5 today?

So the plan is to get Yokohama s.drives in a 205/50

but they come in a 225/50 as well. i was thinking id try to fit a wider tire on my wheels instead of the 205s im running now. my wheels are 7.5 wide so i should have no fitting issues? performance wise, what effect will the wider tire have on my car?

Wheels 16x7? You could always go with 215/45R16 if you want a little wider. It's not a common tire size but I do believe they make the RT615s in that size. It's a more performance-oriented tire though.

^^^Man..you got that car back together yet?

Get on it!
Oil return line is all that's left and it's a little tricky. I also have to redo my gauge mounting because before the wires were too tight and the gauges were't getting power. Everything else is done. Just have to finish those two things and the prime the fuel and oil system to make sure there aren't any major leaks. Then it's time to turn her over...

yeah but i dont want a smaller side wall. it will give me more of a gap, which with my drop wont look to good.

i guess ill stick with the 205s

a 215/45 vs. a 205/50 will have nearly the same measured sidewall height.

Obviously you misunderstand how tire sizing works.

No pictures but the P5 is running again! Idle seems smoother if not a little lean at times (~15.5:1 occasionally) but it likes to stay around 15:1 for the most part. So far no serious leaks. Everything seems okay for now but I've only put about 20 miles on her since everything was put back together. I only really got on it once and there was a decent amount of smoke behind me - I couldn't tell if it was black, blue or white but it looked lighter. I'm almost certain now the turbo is going. The new gauges are nice - my old oil pressure gauge was definitely reading low as my new AEM says I'm usually around 20 psi at idle. Oil temps get hot! After just about 10 minutes of spirited driving the oil temps were upwards of 220 degrees! I also can't detect any fuel leaks of gasoline smells in the engine bay so perhaps all that liquid teflon paid off. As for the fun stuff, the new exhaust manifold looks nice, LOL. I can't really tell if there was a HP gain or not but spool time is rediculous! So much so that I spiked to about 12 psi before it settled around 10. I've gotta watch that in the future. I guess the whole 3 week venture was a success even if the car still burns oil but that's something I can't really fix right now. Hopefully I won't be throwing anymore lean codes either but I may just end up having to ignore those. Hopefully tomorrow I can get some pics of the engine bay, the new gauge setup and the fogs (which I haven't had a chance to test yet).

Pulled the Tribute wheels out of the shed to clean them up and removed the bumper markers. Gotta run out tomorrow to get some sandpaper and then it's time for a re-tint.

oh wow thanks for the pic. Exactly what I was looking for. Yea I'm gonna be going with some new tires so hopefully they hold up for at least a few years.

Your welcome....I am actually looking forward to some snow this winter. lol I hope to get at least two seasons out of this set...maybe even three.

decided to finally do the fog's always on mod
