How much do you think i can talk this car lot down?...

Its a MZ3, 60,000 miles, all stocker. They want $13k. I know i can talk them down i just dont know about how much, how much do you think?

Things wrong with it- hood has rock chips, couple of door dings, cigarette burns in seats, stock side skirts chipped up good, rear bumper re-painted but it doesnt match the factory color(two different reds), front bumber re-painted(matches but i can tell cuz there is overspray on the headlights, decent curb burn on the rims.

I didnt get to get under the hood or in the car cuz the place was closed, but my best guess is that this car was in a front/read end fender benders and the car lot is trying to cover it up.

i got the vin and looked it up on carfax, and there were 12 records found, should i pay and see what they are?

BTW- i am looking at this one cuz the other 3 i was gonna get the seller said he was gonna sell it to me but its been 2 weeks and no reply, i feel scam but i dunno.

hmmmm sometimes carfax is a scam they say there are 12 inquries under that vin, then you pay and find out its for registration and stuff. But if you see all that repainting and stuff it may not be worth it, you just might be buying someone elses problem. also find out if it has a salvage title...

it should, but you never know. Carfax never said my car was in a wreck but it has been in one.

carfax will only show whats reported to the insurance agencies and dmv......if its in an accident and no ins or cops involved then it wont show.....

Every car lot in town was open today except this one with the MZ3 i want, oh and i found some more things wrong with the car while i was there.
-frame around the license plate light is missing
-passenger mirror is missing, just the "mirror" not the whole thing.
-One of the rear bumper reflectors is smashed and the fram around it is dented, looks like it was in more than one rear ender.

Not necessarily true it could have just been taken to a crappy repair place...I would purchase the carfax if you are seriously going to buy this car....Or have the dealer pay for it....

Anybody have any suggestions on how i should go about talking to these guys to bring down the price?

Be firm with them and bulls*** a lot. Tell them that you were looking for another color instead of that one. Also, make sure to point out and exaggerate all the faults. Oh, and if they don't budge, just get up and leave. If it's a dealership, you can expect a call from them in a day or two begging you to come back.

I would not play dumb. If you show them that you know more than they do about the car (which most likely you do), you'll have the upper hand. Don't let them rattle you either cause they'll try to say some stupid s*** to throw you off.

What sucks is that I am currently riding an '04 harley so everytime i go to a dealership they take one look at my bike and they hear a little "chaching" in their head. should i take a car there?

We will just have to see what happens, i dont have a good feeling though. They used to have a super ricey 3 there a couple months ago and they sold that for like $13k-ish.

if they are asking you more then what kbb is saying the car is work dont even bother! turn around and wait until something better comes up if you can
