warranty voided by mazda rep

i posted this on another forum, but i thought you guys definitely deserve to know as well.

i brought my car into galpin mazda in van nuys california because i was throwing p2122 dtc regarding a throttle sensor.

my car was there all day, i called the service rep over and over to find out what was actually being done to my car.

i never heard back from her. i walked into the dealership and asked her if they had snapped pics of my engine bay and sent them to mazda...she said, "i didn't take any pics"

hahaha, so anyway, a mazda rep DID snap pics of my engine bay and sent them to mazda.
i have no warranty, a cel, a car that won't gas but does turn and idle, AND they still refuse to work on it even if i pay for it.

i'm an idiot for bringing my car with a cel and mods to the dealership, so whatever...but you guys should know that i have no warranty


mods: boost controller
aftermarket bpv
boost gauge...
that's all they took pics of...but there's other s*** on the car as well

I just saw your other thread that shows you having a boost controller and a map clamp which didn't work right most likely causing the cel ...so what exactly were you expecting??

Did you try taking off the clamp and boost controller and resetting the battery? Maybe wired wrong or faulty?

s***, navar isn't there anymore. he was the one i always went to. i told him every mod that was going to be on the car...so instead i left it in the hands of tammy...

only the boost controller was on the vehicle at the time i brought it in. but whatever, it was still pretty ******* st00pid of me, which is why i can't be THAT mad. the psi was actually turned down though to about 14psi.
i reset the ecu...i took the clamp off...boost controller is still on.
car starts and idles, but doesn't respond to gas

I think I'm gonna stick to stock with this car no matter how crap some of it is. I came from a 130 bhp Ford Contour and 130 bhp Protege5. The stock MS3 feels like a damn rocket in comparison.

That's harsh but the Service Manager at my Dealership once said 'If you think you can build a better car than Mazda by adding mods then you should be prepared to do the repairs yourself'.
This happened several years back when I took my 1998 Protege with a CEL. They claimed that my CAI caused the MAF to get fouled and did not replace it under warranty....but they didn't viod my entire warranty.
Sorry about your predicament.

If you roll over and take that your doing exactly what they hope. I doubt a throttle sensor failed because of boost controller, bpv and gauge. Fight them legally you have nothing to lose.

Hey phil did they void the ENTIRE warranty of just the powertrain?

Also when I talked to you on the phone you said teh bov was still on the car at the time you took it in but the post says it was off. If that was the case could they tell you had been swapping it out?

Also did they say your boost gauge was an issue??? Thats lame if so

I guess I'll have to change dealerships as well. I figured the boost controller would get then itchin to void, but the gauge i think they would leave aside. Possibly the bov as well.

Hey did they take pics or say anything about the testpipe tho???

One good thing now is.... you can get that downpipe you wanted to get
