After finding out that my 235/40 reo1r that needed to be replaced wiegh the same as the 255/35 reo1r i decided to go for it; Hoping they would fit. I rolled my fenders before I put them on. My 235s did not rub with my 53mm offset, however I new that the 255s would. The 235s were very good on my 8.5 wheels, the tires felt very crisp and responsive. The sidwall was well supported by the wide rim. I knew running the 255s would lose some of the responsiveness, however I wanted to gain more grip. I feel like the tradeoff has been worth it.
To get the clearance needed in the front I had to file away the adjustment collers on my coilovers, as well as use the 4mm spacer from my old tein setup. Making my front offset 49, I did not want to go any lower with my offset, so filing away that material was my only option. It is still extremely tight but does not rub.
