Just got back from a little ride. Took two of my friends out for a ride in the Speed to show them whats what. And I don't usually push the car to much when I'm driving regular, but when I'm showing someone I like to give it all its got. And I'm still just amazed at this car. It took a nice turn at 80 and my friends were just going crazy. I did some drifting also which was the first time for me, and it just felt like butter, corrected beautifully and then pulled hard out of it. I'm just really happy with the car, and loving it more and more. Any crazy stories you guys got?

I had the exact opposite experience than you did. I took my friends for a ride and all that extra weight made the car slow as hell. I even felt embarrassed for talking all that s*** about my car then having it accelerate slow.

i agree, I tried to accelerate onto the freeway and it wasn't happening, had 4 peeps in the car with me. All that weight made it slow. But i let a friend drive it with me in the passanger seat and he loved it. Just wouldnt stop talking crap about the "rediculous torque steer" it has tho (nuts)

My friend wanted me to drive him around in it but it was very new so I babied it somewhat and I guess it wasn't that impressive.

Your first time "drifting", and with 2 people in the car?

The safety of your passengers is far more important than the need to impress them.

Always drive carefully with passengers in the car. Never forget that you are responsible for their well being.

i scared the hell out of a guy that i work with in my rx7. he said something about the fast and the furious when he got in and i said, "fast and the furious is for pussys" and put it sideways down the feeder road of the freeway. he didn't expect that at all.

hahaha I guess why there is a picture of a crashed car in your sig :). j/k I'm sure you're an excellent driver

i appreciate you bringing up the accident that was caused by a 54 year old woman which took away my original investment. that was the first car that ever a car payment on and a year into the three year loan i had 4 payments left to make. i, personally, have never caused an accident, never had a moving violation aside from two speeding tickets, and have been driving for about 8 years now.

real classy of you to bring up the car that almost made me give up on modifying cars all together.

Yes mother.

also, when we RWD'ers talk about getting it sideways, it means that we did a long burn-out. it doesn't mean that we yanked the e-brake and held our breath.

My post is directed towards the people saying their MS3 was slow due to having passengers, what kind of fat ass passengers did you have? Maybe a couple elephants and a rhino?

I showed off my car to a couple friends , all in the 200lbs range, accelerating didn't make a difference and it handled fantastic going fast during some sharp turns...Even braking was as good.

Maybe my mods helped, but the car is definitely not slow with the AC on and a couple passengers.

Yes it did.

As an exercise: go find one of the numerous ET/trap calculators on the internets and check out what happens to the estimated time for a car with 263 HP when you go from 3100 pounds curb weight to 3300 pounds with a driver to 3900 pounds with three passengers.

No one said "slow." Simply "slower with 600 extra pounds in the car."

Weight has a huge effect on performance.

Fine, pedantically speaking he said slow as hell, but everyone here with a grade 5 reading level and basic socialization skills made the connection between the poster's words and the obvious comparison he was making to his ride when only he is in it.

Granted extra weight obviously has an affect on the performance of a vehicle but at least the MS3 has great mid range torque to help minimize this affect a lot better than say a Civic si with its whopping 139ft/lbs of torque@5500rpms.

I never felt my car was “slow as hell” even with 4 passengers and language. The 07’ Civic SI I had however did feel a hell of a lot slower with extra weight but it was a lot slower to begin with anyway.

i know that you can, it is just that dandydaniel cocksucker was hinting that the fact that i was driving like a moron. i am not sure what it matters to him, i guess he just has to make an ass of himself as often as possible.

You can drift in a FWD car without snatching the e-brake if you know what you're doing BTW>
