i believe you. but how do you explain the huge power loss from the dealer clearing my CEL?
I kinda noticed the same thing lately, but I think that when you drive the MS3 from the dealer, the tires are brand new and really slippery. I remember pushing the throttle in second on the test drive, and the tach slipping to 6k, tires smoking and the car launched ahead and traffic vanished. I was sold on the car that day.
I went easy on it for the first few hundred miles after purchase and then when 600 miles was up, I hit it a bit harder and the same drama never occured, however the car probably accelerates just as fast - the tires are just sticky like glue now. I can't break lose in second from a roll, and the tires take a jackrabbit start by just lunging forward with barely any scrubbing.
I swear I had my gut pushed in further in my earlier tests, but i could just be used it it.
I climbed back into my old car recently and my gawd, it felt broken. So maybe its our perception.

I have noticed the same problems with my 08 sp3. The performance is not there anymore. I actually had posted about this problem earlier. I thought that I might be just getting used to the power, but I definitely believe my ms3 has lost power. It has very little punch now. Disappointing!!
When ppl say an 08.5 what is the .5?
I have noticed that when accelerating the engine seems to be kinda sputtering. You guys have that problem also?

There are so many variables to consider for that apparent "lack of power". In my experience, it makes a big deal that the tires are properly warmed up. Even smooth throttle application will cause the TC/DSC light to come on if the tires are cold and/or the street is dusty (as it frequently is over here).
Also, now that I have passed the 1000 mi in my car, it seems to need a bit of hard driving to really come alive, especially after some 5 days or so of inner-city driving, I needs to be driven for some 5 mins accelerating at 3/4 throttle and then it'll feel like the animal it shoud be
Of course it very well may be the ECU or something less trivial, but I haven't had such experience (thank God).

Do you think the ECU is adapting to lazy driving? I'm not particularily fond of that idea, I want the power available all the time, but it does seem to come more alive the harder you push it.
Once I get my first oil change done I'll experiment with this, I dont want to boil the motor at full output with all them metal shavings bouncing around.
