Thinkin of trading MS6 for MS3

The Sport/GT debate interests me as Canadian MS3's only have one trim and it's a mix between the two (basically a GT with cloth seats and no nav), which is both good and bad, so neither trim is ideal. The GT HID headlights are awesome (I especially love how the HID low-beams stay on with the high-beams, I travel on some very dark backroads). The led tailights are interesting. I love the fact that I got the cloth seats from the sport as I really hate leather. The rain sensing wipers suck as they rarely do what I want in spite of trying every sensitivity level, I'd rather have a good ol' fashioned intermittent timer. The Bose system sounds like garbage, it's better than the non-bose and the aux input is nice but if you want any clarity you'll have to go aftermarket. The automatic climate control is useless to me as it never does what I want, so I prefer to manually control it. Of course everybody will feel differently about this stuff, you'll have to decide for yourself if the gizmos are worth the extra coin. It's still a fantastic car to drive in any trim.

How so? (Serious question, as I am trying to decide if I should go for the Sport or GT)

the leather bolsters will split, and wrinkle from you getting in and out of the car, also alcantara isn't the most durable stuff. the seats in the sport will look like new for a very long time .honestly the sport offers everything good that the MS3 has to offer the GT is laden in excess that will cost you in the long run, and really not add any enjoyment to owning the car you also won't get that 2K back on resale

Contrary to popular belief, AWD isn't only for bad weather. It can improve your driving experience in any climate. I know it alleviated a lot of aggravation for me when driving in rush hour traffic. FWD cars and even my 06 Frontier have to go through all that wheelspin drama before they get moving. Pulling out onto a frontage road from a residential street can be maddening if traction is an issue. Wheelspin isn't something you want when pulling out in front of semi's traveling at 60mph. I'm officially spoiled.

First off you shouldn't be pulling out in front of semis doing 60 mph in any car!;)

Your response is typical of anyone who has awd and is involved in an awd vs fwd debate. The truth is, I drive spiritedly all day and hardly ever spin the wheels. I might chirp it on purpose, but no 'drama' as you put it. A little skill and finesse with the clutch and wheelspin can be controlled rather easily.

To the OP: if you can drive one before making your decision that would be a big plus.

I could not disagree more with your statements regarding the seat durability or wear.

No, you wont get exactly 2k back but you'll be more back for a GT model than a sport model. That's a fact.

Im going tomarrow morning to drop my car off since im having a rattle noise coming from one of the pulleys. I know the dealer has 2. A sport and a GT. I will check them both out and see how much they will give me for the trade in. Which on kbb it says 16,325. Private party value of 19,120. And the retail is 22,025. Haha funny i only paid 21,500 for it a year and a half ago with 15k miles.

I will most likely go with the GT since I love hid's. Halogens seem very dim after driving my six with hid's.

Are there any upgrades or changes mazda has done with the engine that are different from the early models like the 06? I noticed the cold pipe is different.

Man, 300/mo at 21 for a ms6? I have a MSP and an RX-7 insured, full coverage with 100 deductible on comprehensive, collision and underinsured. I have a record, and my girlfriend has one accident. Both of us insured. It's $140/mo. I'm also 22. Girlfriend is 20.

As for the wheelspin issue. I drive a Protege, and it doesn't have the reduced torque thing that the MS3 does, and I never spin the wheels. Unless your trying to launch at like 6k rpms, you shouldn't have a problem. It's turbo anyways, once your moving slam the throttle down and off you go.

I've also claimed two windshield replacements and a comprehensive claim on the hit and run with no increases in premium.

My dealer had a used Speed6 sitting and wanted me to buy it but the Speed3 is a lot more fun to drive and better looking car. $300/mo is lot to pay for insurance. I pay $65/mo but i'm an old man with a wife and 2 kids

Im still under my parents policy. Never have checked around for other quotes though. Funny my dad has a brand new truck with full coverage and 4 others cars with liability and I pay the same he does :(

I dont know which one I like more. Metropolitan Gray or Crystal White Pearl...... My past 2 cars are white, maybe its time for a change.

Are you looking at Cavalier Mazda? If so I'm jealous, I saw some whites there not too long ago when I took my Black Mica in for service.

They should have had white in 07

Tell us about those auto wipers you cant shut off? Sport all the way!

I can turn them off, I just can't control them entirely! :( Damn those wipers...

LOVE my alcantara.

Leather splitting? Leather conditioner...problem solved. If you don't want to take care of your interior, then don't get the GT..but I take care of my car through and through. I'm not going to say the Sport is stupid, because I sat in one and I think it's great too. I just love the little things like my HID's, LED tails and interior. Can't say I am totally in love with the bose, nor the wipers.
