but the FE3 i the one found in the sportage, right?
Yup, and it should be the best one to use, as it had the lowest compression of those available (9.3:1 (Sportage version) v. 10.1:1 and higher).
I don't know if I can agree that simply going forged on the FS-DE is a better route. There's so much more that goes into making power. If you think about it, the FE3 made 170hp n/a, the same hp that the FS-DE makes with ~6psi.
the FSDZE or FS-ZE engines are a dream among tuners
everyone wants one and there has been a few who have actually gotten it but they fail at making it work.
so much money for nothing is not worth it.
going back to the FE3...so at a ratio of 9.3:1, what horsepower did it come with?
You are better off buying good internals than swapping
I would like to know what is a good head setup to run with a FE motor with forged intrenal. Port port, polish, cams, and etc. I am looking at taking my stock MSP block with forged internals and run a CR from 8.5:1 to 8:1. I would like to run a Haltech but still thinking about the head setup.
