mazdaspeed protege Engine Swap ideas...

Back dating the car to OBD-0(not sure if BPTs were ever OBD-1) seems very silly to me.

A FS and BP motor are going to make about the same power given the same mods.

OK since were talking crazy swaps... How does the 2.3 from the mazda3 fit?
More importantly the 2.3 from the MS3!!!

Anyone know about the MS3 motor and if it would fit? For 263 hp out of the box...that should put a smile on anyones face.

C'mon People what easy comes easy goes, the fun part of Modding up a car is to do some unique s***. why going the easy way and just buy another car when you can make yours bigger and better.. just my .02

you guyus are taking this out of proportion.."oh hey, while on the subject why not put an engine of a f-15!"

this is serious debate about the 1.8l engine.

i was giving this some thought too. if the MSP has awesome handling but doesnt have the speed capabilities to be a 10 second car, what could a engine swap do.....id be interested in swapping a stronger forged engine in my car over, forging the stock block...just for the extra bling/challenge

Alejo if your really going to put the effort into a good swap I would do a fully built KL-ZE with a T3T4, but thats just me. All motor KL with some boltons and spray would be real fun too..=)

I was waiting for someone to post this. A V6 swap would be tits..to my recollection its been done. I've seen a couple on the boards.

Would also like to mention about the vid I posted, he was at 22psi on that last pull.

A turbo KL would be my choice.
