If we needed Turbo Timer's in order to make our MS3's last longer, there would be alot of Subi owners in bad shape. Subi owners who don't know a thing about cars (excluding STI owners) and literally drive them and shut them off.
It's a water/oil based turbo. No need to let it cool unless you just got done doing 90mph a second ago, parked and kill the engine.
Technically the manual says you need to let it run after a freeway drive. But by the time you get off the freeway, you still drive to your destination throughout town and that cools things down as well.
This is just an opinion of course. Take it how you will.
