Why is it that people in the cheapest cars get the nicest rims?

The pennies have been saved the MS3 is mine!
So I go onto the honda fit forum and look at the wheel section and dudes are running volks, enkeis, advans, works and you name it they got it on their fit. Then over here on the ms3 forum I see some of the jankyest wheels known to man konigs, rotas and all these dirt cheap wheels. So why is it that we in the mighty ms3 feel the need for these weak wheels while the fit guys have the top end stuff all day long?

You know I love your wedsports. :D I am not talking about everybody but just the general trend I see with the ms3 twards second class wheels.

Did you get those 8.5" volks yet? Maybe they can afford small high end rims, I'm sure 16"x6" forged wheels are not to expensive. lol.

Not to be one of those "future mods list" guys, but I have a set of Volk GT-C's in Mercury Silver with my name on them on a freighter somewhere in the Pacific.
(they're paid for, so it's not like the usual vaporware future mods that people put in their sigs)

Like jp4130 said, smaller wheels are a lot less expensive.
Also, I think the Honda crowd is a lot more into the JDM culture and willing to spend the cash on certain brands of wheels.

How about the fact that the damn fits are much cheaper and you guys are paying a lot more for insurance on your cars and premium gas. No shame in buying cheaper s***.

Nah, I decided the Volks were out of my budget range for now so I got the rpf1s in 18x7.5 +48 I know that's not the ideal width for running 235s but it will have to do.

Same here kneedragger, I got my rpf1s paid for and coming accross the pacific as we speak so I should be gettin them within a couple weeks now.

Cool man, those are awsome wheels. What are they in that size 17 lbs.(2thumbs)

Alot of people don't buy expensive rims because they are afraid to mess them up. People also think knockoffs look just as good. In my opinion you can really tell a big difference when you see the rims in person. I love my Enkei's. I'm sure you will too.

yea 17lbs.

whats wrong with people having nice wheels on a fit?
There is nothing wrong with it. I am impressed with the wheels those guys are running. I just wonder why we with our mazdas in general don't seem to have the same class with our wheels.

Yea I hear that. That's one of the reasons I didn't get $700 volks, messing them up or getting them stolen. And your enkeis are sick man. I consider enkei a real brand I mean that's what I am getting myself so you know I like them.

I ponder that as well sometimes... I guess its partially due to the Mazda mentality; all about best bang for your buck, so most Mazda owners don't feel the need to shell out the extra cash and get quality debatably "overpriced" stuff... Similar as to why someone would pick a MS3/MS6 over a more expensive EVO or STI.

My best guess is there are so many more people modding honda's/acura's in proportion to poeple modding mazda's. Your more likely to see someone rocking something more expensive or rare on a honda. But the gap is closing fast as mazda is turning out some kick ass cars now.

Because of that fact it will also be easier to find a honda fitment faster too.

I don't think rotas or konigs are bad. They aren't expensive. But they aren't bad ricer wheels.

Yeah but I don't really have respect for a company that has built itself on replicating higher end wheels... It's like those rediculous Hyundai commercials comparing them to Lexus or Landrover, sure you save money but you're still driving a cheap korean car that has yet to prove itself in the industry and you're definitely not better then your competition.
