anyone ever think about putting a high speed fan in the hood to blow constantly on the intercooler???

i dont see how powering it would be a problem, and they make slimline small fans for honda radiators that are tiny..

How much clearance is between the top of the intercooler and the scoop? You have an interesting idea. However, wouldn't it be better to mount the fan to the intercooler instead of mounting it to the hood?

would have to check to see if the extra draw on the alternator would be outweighed by the benifits of the fan.

15 amps max, i see fans on jegs that run 1700cfm and pull 7.5 amps when on..
how far doest he intercooler sit in the hood is my question..

use some good memory foam placed ontop of the tmic and close the hood. then raise it and measure

a proform is available in 10" dia with 2.25 depth for 50$ at jegs. what im thinking is 2 fold.

yeah it might fit but with all that heat i would about longevity being on top of the motor vs oem in front. at least in front its getting some type of air flow to cool the plastic.

and really wouldn't it just recycle the hot air blowing it back into the ic? unless you replace the hood with something that draws fresh air into the fan or some creative work with some cordless shears and a dremel. seems adding a scoop like the subies wouldn't be that hard. mark, cut, bondo, prime and respray. my ideas at least.

bad idea, tried that on my last car.. was a nightmare never could get the bondo to not crack..

as long as its running, it will be getting cold air by sucking it from the front vents..

k. are you thinking a vent flush with the hood or some type of scoop like a subi? better than bondo and stronger, find placement for your idea and tack it. weld it, grind it and reshoot it.

by front vents you mean the oem? just seems so damn restrictive. dunno but if you come up with something let me know.

Just drive with no hood

would fit right in with some of the nc crowd. that and the wm spinners and two out of four tireflys. GHEY.

if you want to fit in in south louisiana, you have 2 options f-250 or bigger jacked up 3 feet with mud tires or a old caprice with 26" rims , the rims cost more than the car is worth.
