Deleting resonators and muffler?

ok Im sold..Im taking out the 2 resonators..isnt the last one a straight through muffler?

whatever it is i'm telling you its MUCH better with all 3 out, i took out 2 and its sound good then i took off the whatever you wnt to call it and it is perfect! its quiet at idle and positivly roars under WOT!(headbang) and i noticed with the 3rd off it "burrbles and bellows" sound sweeet!

i told yall it sound better with all 3 out...

do you have a BETTER sound clip? Ive seen the one you have if your the "gsr" youtube account, the video and sound quality is terrible on the video. I'd love to hear a better quality one if you have it so I can compare if I want to take out the first resonator

I planned to remove the 2 resonators, but changed my mind and did the back resonator and muffler and it is not loud at all, only a mild increase in sound. I am hoping it has a breakin period and gets louder. Otherwise it seemed pointless as it did not become very loud after removing those 2 items. If it doesn't get louder I will go back and remove the first resonator at a later time

If you plan to add a test pipe you may want to wait..The test pipe will make it louder.Since you are modding your stock exhaust Im guessing you will be getting a test pipe. You can always go back and remove the last resonator later.

I remember seeing your video and actually when i showed it to my friend he said yours sounded the best of the youtube vids of the back resonator and muffler that I showed him. I really liked the one from kraz3y with the 2 resonators off but his also had the testpipe in there too which I assume made a huge difference in why his sounded so badass.

I dont mind loud exhausts, I just didnt want annoying and obnoxius to where it would attract the fuzz. Just the back resonator and muffler is barely louder than stock to me. Little more bass but nothing grand. I have testpipes on the 350z but got rasp from it and then it's a pain (for me with no tools) to have to take it off for dealership, smog, and all that. So I hope to avoid the testpipe for the time being until prices for them go down too.

If you look at my videos you will see a video with 1 resonator and muffler deleted and another with 1 resonator and muffler deleted with a test pipe.It will give you a idea of what to expect. The test pipe is worth the money because it does add some hp and you really only need a 17mm wrench or socket to work with the test pipe..You could get a used pipe for under $150.

guys im goin tomarrow to the muffler shop to get my exhaust done,,,i either wanna get the two resonators and the muffler off or the two resonators the muffler and the second cat....how is this gonna sound?? i need to kno something asap...

I would buy a test pipe for the 2nd cat so you can put it back on for dealer visits or they will void your warranty.Dont have them just weld in a pipe to replace the cat,bad idea.

I checked out that video with the resonator, muffler and test pipe. that sounds MUCH louder than just the resonator and muffler out. Sounds pretty nice actually and not too annoying. I will have to look into that test pipe thing. I have seen some out there for like $180. But if I can find a used one for cheap that will work for me. Any CEL with the test pipe in? I would assume not since there are no o2 sensor in that piece as they are only on the downpipe itself

no cels..I have a turboXS pipe and I have not had any problems with it even tho some people have..You can check there site and see what they are charging.

to me it makes sense to remove the last resonator(muffler) and the resonator closest to it. I believe "Stock muffs" are intended keep noise levels down..removing it will give you a nice bass. "Resonators" are intended to control the sound of the exhaust...remove 1 and it'll sound a pinch aggressive. Removing the 2 resonators at the back doesn't seem like you'd gain as much bass and it might sound good but not balanced.

Oh and I don't have a test pipe, but peeps say it doesn't make much of a difference in sound.

exhaust and 1 resonator will be to quiet

Ok jst went yesterday and got straight pipe from the downpipe back, i deleted the 2nd cat, both resonators, and the muffler, and replaced it with 3" pipe....sounds really awsome, pretty mean growl...and at cruising speed on the highway you still cant here it, its not much louder than stock, and has no drone, well jst wanted to tell my 2 cents

I hope you dont have to goto the dealer for work and they see you deleted you cat because you will not like the newes you get from them after that..Im guessing it will be voided motor/drivetrain warranty for removing your Cat..Good Luck...Im glad you like your new sound tho...

my dealer told me as long as i dont remove the first cat there wouldnt be a problem, they said there arent any o2 sensors on the 2nd cat so it wouldnt effect the engine
