If your a stats ***** sell the speed3 and get a chevy, but then in a few months when the next contender grabs the crown from chevy, be prepared to sell again to hop into the next hot ride.....

I say stick with the Mazda and use the savings to buy more magazines so you can quote them on Mazda forums.

Just remeber Coalt SS = little car
speed3 = hatchback/wagon/thing
 
veyron is way cool, but borders on financial stupidity. Unless of course you light cigars with bundles of $1000 bills just because you cant seem to spend it as fast as you make it.
 
says "sport tuned suspension". I honestly think the Speed3 rides kind of rough for a stock car! Cannot believe a VOLVO is actually under 25K, must be without any options whatsoever!

yea, the C30 was another car i considered before i bought the MS3. im not a big fan of the styling of the 1.0, but the R-design looks pretty sick IMO. problem is, even tho the MSRPs are pretty low, my local volvo dealers mark them up like crazy, and stock them all with a ridiculous number of options on them. there were only 2 out of 12 on the lot that stickered for less than $29,900.

As much as I love Mazda, the ecotec is still a better motor. The platform? Who cares, it's a chevy. MS3 + ecotec = win.

However, how did you come up with this conclusion? Can you site a source / publication, etc?

It really isn't a conclusion, it's just a better motor. I've seen them hold a lot more power than the MZR. The reality is though, its a moot point. Arguing what motor in stock form holds the most power is kind of ridiculous considering anyone looking to make real power builds the bottom end. Moreoever, I haven't seen too many ecotec's blowing up or falling out of the car. There is a reason with the U.S Ariel Atom is powered by the Ecotec. Everywhere else it's Honda.

It doesn't matter what I drive, but if you are just dying to know, its a Mazda. I've blown a motor in every one I've ever owned.

Yeah seriously. People shouldn't view the Cobalt SS as a "threat" or whatever. It's a car. There will be always be a faster car. Just call up Speed Circuit and build your motor. Then instead of worrying about econoboxes, you can race vettes.
