Also a new 08 Mazda5 GT owner

Hi all, I picked it up a week and a half ago, and so far I've just tinted the car, and put HID lights. I traded in a 2002 Mercedes C-class for this car because of convenience for my 10 month old baby. I waited 7 weeks for this car because there were no white Mazda5's around Toronto area. But it was worth it because I love the white. Even the beige interior is nicer than I originally thought. The only complaint is that it doesn't handle large bumps as well, and does not accelerate as well as my C-class on the highway. But is great on gas, so I'm not complaining. Next project will be to add some LCD headrests. I'd like to share some pictures. Thanks.

Really nice color combination, white/tan. I didn't want the tan interior because I didn't think I was going to like it, but I think it goes well with white. I had to wait 9 weeks for mine, so I know the feeling.

Not sure about the 08MY, but 06-07 Canadian GT basically equals the US Touring. Pety naming differences accomplish nothing but confusion (notcool)

Thanks guys. And you are correct dreamym5, HID does not come stock on Canadian GT's. We do not have HID as an option. I think because we have the day time running lights which is required by law here in Canada. So they reduce the voltage on the halogen for the day time running lights, and give the full 12 volts for night time low beam. HID's will flicker and will not function with reduced voltage.

Huh? Really? Weird!! I heard that the black interior will be available for 2009 models in Canada. Maybe you got a 2009 model???
Only interior available for white was the beige when I bought it. I would of loved all black interior, although the beige is not bad at all. Makes the interior lighter and more airy. Plus the black dash and black accents with the beige is nice.

I was told the same thing everywhere when I was shopping around for the 08 GT back in March: only tan / sand interior is available for the white pearl exterior. I really wanted a black interior because it helps hide stain and dirt, something I really value now that I have a 7-month-old at home!

Looks like Alberta got a special treat?!

Just bought mine last friday and took it on a road trip immediatley, very impressed with the ride and mileage. Galaxy Gray with the black leather interior, my wife loves it. I'm thinking there's got to be a way to reprogram the center display to say something other than "Hello" when you start the car though.
