Staggered Rims

I know our cars are FWD, but staggered rims are sexy. just wondering if anyone has done this, or seen one with staggered rim set up. What is the Min/Max offset for rims on the MS3? the car will be dropped an inch.

To each his own, but, i think this is a no-no for a FWD car.

wider in the back. sometimes they are both smaller in diameter and thickness, but what im talking about would be like 18x7.5 front 18x9.5 rear. something to that extent

Such a stagger will only increase this car's tendency to understeer..not really too bad in stock form. Why not do a reverse stagger with wider in front for better handling plus the front wheel well will tolerate a wider tire w/o rubbing compared to the rear..a stock 7" in rear with an 8" in front wouldn't need any fender bending.

i searched staggered rims, relax i didn't find anything, that's why I asked, thanks for the info about those axis wheels, i'm going to check them out.

I'de go that way if I had teh ching. Axis ain't cheap. g/l and post pics if you get them. Personally, I like the look of staggered rims on a car whether it's rwd or not.

I hate it when people use "staggered" to describe wheels with different offsets. it just sounds uneducated. staggering your wheels would be like not having wheels in the front. only in the back. then you would have staggered your wheels.

sounds like rims with different offsets to me. I guess wheel manufactures are unedumacted as well. I order my wheels today. Axis Penta's with the Maxis lip in the back. Should be in next week, I will post pics when they are installed.

YOU MUST GET PICTURES ON HERE ASAP

so the rim shop called me today and said I might need to roll my fenders to get these rims to fit. They said the offset was a little more than it should be. Anyone know the max offset you can have on the MS3's? i need a reply ASAP!

I don't think anyone knows for sure. However, you'll find plenty of people willing to offer their opinion I'm sure. I was wondering the same thing but have yet to see hard proof (Creditable source, publication, etc) on what a safe offset is for the MS3. Most seem to say that anything more than a 48 offset is too much of a deviation from stock. I personally think that idea is a crack of s*** until I see proof. I would say as long as you aren't doing something really extreme like a +30 offset or lower you'll most likely be alright if you roll the fenders. Members will also say things about suspension geometry and how you'll mess it up if you go with an offset lower than 48. Again, I have yet to see any proof of that as well.
