Custom Turbo Inlet-Fits Like Stock!

Me and my tuner/custom fabricator friends Kevin and Matt at Jet City Tuning in Puyallup, WA made this custom turbo inlet today. Fits perfect with no contact issues and best of all, mates like the stocker to any intake! It uses 2.5" mandrell bent aluminum tubing. I still need to polish and coat it before I install it. I designed it for smoother flow. I has a little more area than the stock, but has no pinch points or ripples in it like the pancake stock inlet.

Wow, looks great! When you get it on there, let us know if it feels/sounds/dynos any differently than your MS CAI

I thought about making a batch of them, but man, labor is intense. Also, I don't want to have any liability risks. I'll talk to Kevin and Matt at Jet City Tuning and see if they want to take it on.

This is my second design. My goal was to make it fit without touching anything and make it so the CAI side will sit and fit just like stock and include the mounting support.

I bought and tried the ATP 3" inlet. I spent hours trying to get the ATP 3" inlet to NOT rub on anything and trying to get it to mate to my MS CAI. I didn't like the fact that the ATP piece didn't have a mounting flange. The engine movement put a lot of stress on the turbo inlet side of the ATP inlet. The CAI is fixed and the inlet is fixed to the turbo inlet on the engine, so all the stress was imposed on the inlet hose clamp. I got the ATP 3" inlet installed and drove around with it for a few days, but was SO disappointed, I decided to make my own.

the ATP doesnt sit comfortable. its a b**** even to get it on.
i didnt finish putting in on because i ran into the MSCAI to Inlet size trouble!

Stay tuned, with all the people wanting one, we are going to look at possibly building a jig and making a batch of these up. I have no idea right now on any gains, but rest assured, we will do some dynos on it in the near future.

i wouldnt care to much on gains, i just want it for the look, the cai looks like crap going into a plastic tube that is flat in one area.. but yeah, it should free up some more power, due to it bieng less restrictive..

Ah, man, I just took it off. i could have snapped a pic, but forgot. I don't have the mounting flange drilled out yet, so I just wasn't planning on a install pic! From my last test install though, everything looks good. It does sit on the heater core hose, but not 1/5th as bad as any other product out there. I think I'm going to look getting a teflon or similar wrapper for the heater core hose just for safety.

I had to get the stocker installed so I could drive to work tomorrow morning! I will get a pic installed within the next few days.
