SS FTC + STi 550s = AMAZING!!!

thats what my car hit I don't know how else to say this. 9 or 10psi solid. I'm not gonna argue there is no need.

Don't you think somewhere in any thread I woulda mentioned running 20psi. I woulda made a whole thread about it dudes, mpnick turbo at 20psi would be sick. I only hit 9psi or 10psi thats it no more no less with atp wga.
Don't you think if I was boosting 20psi I would of put the line back on and not have done this about 3 times?

Take it or leave it hate it or love it.

If 9Psi is your max...Then something is wrong with your Turbo.
Period.
End of Story.

yes Ken is correct, absent my axle pooping out on me (due to the power increase with the ftc i am sure) everything is working well.

Just need to get that axle on and then everything should be fine.

P.S. ken could you pm me that tracking number? UPS is very weird at my place and if i dont know when they are coming they just leave ;-(

Buy this ftc!!!!

its gonna be there tomorrow as the ups cut off was missed thanks to f-ing mazda the other day. i'll dig up the receipt tonight for you.

Azian6er....I'm guessing you got the 21psi MAP sensor option on the FTC?

So the FTC is controlling your AIC...was that an added fonction/feature you requested or do all FTC's capable of taking on a AIC?

I'm so tempted right now....wonder what injectors I would need at say 15psi on a gt28rs? 440's?

he ordered the 16psi version. the car is capable of going past that on this unit without shutting down but i would not recommend it. the AIC is its own unit and does not require the FTC to operate.

440s on the gt28 will be fine. BUT, if you can get the 550s for cheap, or at a comparable price, i would go ahead with those. That way you have a little more cushion and if you want to turn the boost up, you have room to do so.

Also, you dont want to be running your 440s hard at close to full duty cycle all the time. I think i remember that i was pretty much at full duty cycle at 270 whp on my wrx 440s.

I would go ahead and retain the 550s if i had the choice.

This ftc is a good unit. It is only mapped (or can be mapped) to 16 psi, however this is good for me because i have a boost bug and if i could map for 27 psi i would, and i would run it and blow my engine lol.

SO, having 16psi as a cut off for tuning MAKES me stay below 16psi and thus will hopefully save my engine in the long run..

Plus 16 psi on a gt30 turbo is no joke.

So, needless to say i am happy with 16 psi on my turbo.

Actually now that I think about it. I did not put on the atp wga when I did this. I did have a bad wastegate from mazda that opened too early giving me only 5psi no spiking or dropping.

but if that wouldn't matter, then I don't know. all I hit was 9 or 10.

Thanks for clearing things up azian6er! I agree that having more of a cushion is the way to go for sure. I guess it depends on how much I'll end up boosting. I'd be super happy if I make 250whp one day.

Now I'm wondering if having way more injector then I need...how do or how will..say 550's at idle or low boost tuning be?

I'm guessing the minimum of these injectors gets bumped up aswell?

I'm forgetting the correct term but I guess my question is...do all injectors have the same minimum..it's just the maximum they are a capable of get increase?

When you were at 270 WHP, what was your setup? It has been a while since I looked.

What was your aproxamate duty cycle at those boost levels? The reason I ask is that I have the 460cc S5 RX-7 injectors.
