I dont have a MS3 yet, however am contemplating trading in my RX-8 in on one. I was wanting to either keep my RX-8 rims and tires and swap them, or at the very least swap the tires over only.

Will these tires fit?

Way too wide! SU told be the widest you want to go with on 18's are 225. Perhaps they're wrong?

The stock RX-8 wheels and tires would fit just fine.

people said that rims above 42 mm ofset will rub I have 38 mm offset and no issues....If you wont try you will never know

I think anything wider than 225 and you're pushing it really close to the limit.

I have 225/40/18 on my RX-8 wheels and these tires are too narrow for that rim...

I have plenty of room...next size to try are 235/40/18...those will fit no problem. I am tempted to try 245/40 or 245/35.

At a BMW Club HPDE a few years ago, somebody with a Mazda3 (long story) ended up borrowing my street wheeks from my RX8 for one day. I had 245/40/18s on stock RX8 wheels.
He was able to drive around at moderate speeds without too much trouble, but if he started to push, they would rub in the rear.

No, car was bone-stock.
Not a Mazdaspeed (standard 5-door 2.3L) and I don't know if that makes a difference, but wanted to pass it on.

only after going to the track and hitting the corner curbs, i believe under normal driving it was fine

honestly, i think they didn't do the kind of "normal driving" that i'm used to around here. there's potholes EVERYWHERE! if they could experience it at the track(the bumps, that is), i can experience it on the streets of jersey city...=/

I have 235 40 17's and am lowered 1.8" on the front and back with Eibach Sportlines and i havent had any problems with rubbing. Its very very close though when I turn the wheel all the way though.

Yes but you're on 17's..

SU said that 235's too wide for 18's on the MS3

Why not just go with 225's? They look great on the MS3

I recently went with 235/40/18 Toyo T1R on 5zigen ProRacer N+ 18x8.5 w/ 48mm offset.... Because there did not appear to really be that much of a surface area gain over 235's.

I have also rolled the holy crap out of my fenders...really i did a little more than roll...

SU must have told you that based off of the stock 7'' wide wheel.
The reason 235s are to wide is the stock rim is only 7'' wide. With a proper offset and wide enough wheel which is 8'' 235 are fine on the speed.
