245/40/18 Will it fit?

I recently went with 235/40/18 Toyo T1R on 5zigen ProRacer N+ 18x8.5 w/ 48mm offset.... Because there did not appear to really be that much of a surface area gain over 235's.

I have also rolled the holy crap out of my fenders...really i did a little more than roll...

Awesome, how have you been enjoying your 8.5'' setup now that You've had them for while.

SU must have told you that based off of the stock 7'' wide wheel.
The reason 235s are to wide is the stock rim is only 7'' wide. With a proper offset and wide enough wheel which is 8'' 235 are fine on the speed.

Without rolling the fenders?

Well, i enjoy them a lot more after i got some wider tires on there (235's), but it seemed that for the added weight, running 245's was not really a logical move.

I may still try it out, but i kind of got put in a spot because of a large piece of metal that i picked up in one to the stock tires that i stretched on the 8.5's... Needless to say... (notcool)

Anyway, i didnt really need to roll the fenders... it looks like... But i had already rented the roller from SU and figure (band2)

Now, i think that the biggest difference will be suspension... thats next for sure...

Sorry to hear that, at least it gave you an excuse to replace them. :) The wieght of my tires go up 2lbs from 235s to 245s. Is 40mm more tread worth 8lbs unsprung wieght? Probably not, but 245s on 8.5 sounds so good.:D
I had to put my snow tires back on last weekend. (notcool) Im jelous of your warm climate.

The only reason I am trying this is because I am trading in my RX-8 with these tires on it. They are 4 days old and I would like to be able to get my $$$ worth from them, and not hand the dealer a wicked set of tires for free. I didnt think I would be trading in the 8 but small issues turned into bigger ones.

basically, they will likely fit, but you will definitely have to roll your rear fenders to fit them in...=d

One that we can agree on is that 245's and 8.5's are a match made in heaven... and the second thing is that it is probably not worth the weight...still... i may have to do it the next time i get tires...(boom01)
