New Bose Stereo Problems

They ordered mine today. I can't wait for a play/pause button and sweet music sound

The play/pause button is for use with digital radio, not cd playback; It *looks* like a play/pause button, but check your owner's manual carefully... I was fooled by that button initially until someone set me straight.

I doubt that there will be any change in the function of that button...

UPDATE! *!$%(!#$%*(!%

If you go into your dealership have them call corporate about the Headunit issue if you need too. They are shipping replacement units OVERNIGHT to fix this issue. Mine will be fixed tomorrow.

Please explain this "digital Radio" thing you mentioned? Are you talking sat radio when the correct upgrade has been installed? or is it the new high def radio they are advertising on radio all the time now?

I think I am showing my age... I am speaking of Sirius Satellite radio - The pause/play button is used with Sirius Satellite radio, not music CDs.

My wife has the car tonight, so I can't quote the section of the manual that describes this, but, if you check the owner's manual, you will see it described.

In the section describing the operation of the CD, you will see that the "pause/play" button is not discussed - i.e. it isn't used with CDs

Does that explain it?

Cheers!

Do you know exactly what they did to fix the problem? Im going to E-mail my service dept. now and give them this number you have.

I don't know what they did / changed to fix it sorry. But if you email them and ask them to contact corporate about the issue if they play stupid.

My service dept. manager said he will call your dealership tomorrow. Hope this will get things going alittle faster. Thanks for the info and number.

sorry, thought i was responding to baluu. My service dept. will call the number baluu had posted. sorry again

My dealer can't even find my car using the VIN number. :p He says he would need it to see if there was anything related to the stereo was listed.

If he's up to calling another service manager, mine is Bob Phillips at Napleton's Schaumburg Mazda (888) 649-4654.

We all really appreciate the extra mile your dealer's service manager is putting in! Kinda wish I lived close to your dealership, lol.

Naddie, I could be wrong, but I think the point is that *your* service manager needs to call *his* service manager (however, things are a mite confused in this thread - and I'm not sure who is talking to whom...).

I took the car in today. They hadn't heard of the issue at all and I was the first person to bring it to their attention. They were amazed someone would actually pay that close attention to find this issue..I didn't think it was all that hard to figure out.

Anyhow, they called, got word from Mazda and put in an order. It's almost like a core exchange and the radio goes to some United Radio co.

Good news. I talked to my dealer again today. They said that what mazda is doing is only replacing the radios for the people who come to them with the issue. They told my dealer not to touch any of the units they have on the lot that they are still trying to come up with a solution to fix ALL of them. So my dealer went ahead and ordered a fixed unit for me. I can't wait to get it swapped out.

well you might run into a problem there. they did that for me the 1st time and it was the same issue. But maybe they have it right now. That care thing did not work for me and they just ordered a new one from BOSE directly.

Same thing they told me too.
