I have the normal "carpet" mats. I was thinking of getting the rubber ones because of how sloppy it is in the winter here. The dealer wants $75 for the "all weather' ones. Does anybody on here have both, and are the rubber ones worth the cash? ALso does anybody here have the "Cargo Liner"? I've had my 5 since Xmas and the carpet in the back is just full of stuff that I can't seem to get out with the shop-vac. Like it's stuck in the carpet and won't come out. I want my nice, shiny vehicle to not look all trashed before I've even had it a year. Thank you

Mazda Winter Mats, Cargo Tray

A plastic cargo tray will definetly eliminate debris from getting stuck in the 'ratfuzz' trunk carpet, and keep it looking new, but it will also allow items to slip 'n slide a lot easier, so a cargo net might also be a good investment.
I opted for aftermarket 'tray type' rubber winter mats as they were cheaper than the Mazda units
for our M3 GT ! (dunno)

I have the rubber dealer mats and they work very well. IMO I think they perform as well or maybe better than aftermarket mats. I had negotiated them as part of my deal when I purchased my 5GT.

I will attest for the fact that dirt gets stuck in the fibers of the folded 3rd row. So stuck that regular suction from a vacuum cleaner is hard pressed to get it out… almost needs an agitator brush to loosen it out. I hauled a portable workbench back there and lets just say the sawdust is in it for the long haul

lol, i use my regular vacuum cleaner set on a low height, fold the seats down and vacuum the damn thing front to back. The brush on the vacuum combs the fibers and removes everything. I have done this for the last year and a half so i can definitely say that it doesnt ruin the carpet. I move front to back, then pick up and repeat until i get the whole back. Once im done the carpet looks clean and uniform as all of the fibers are facing one direction.
I then pull out my floor mats and run the vacuum over them to just like you would vacuum your carpet. They come out great everytime. When they get filthy (sorry im going off subject a tad) i hose them down, let them dry and theyre as good as new.

I have both sets. Never used the carpeted ones, but since the All-Weather mats were extra, the dealer still threw in the regular set. They are definitely worth it for winter, though I would look online for a better deal. I have a few parts for this site and had good luck.

I have the mazda all weather mats but I dont like it. A little drip of snow melt from my shoe will easily go to the carpet when I try to drain it. The shape of the original mat is different from the aftermarket ones how did you manage to fit it in did you cut it to shape? I wanna know I would like to buy aftermarket with deep slots to keep water out of the carpet I could use help too.

They do collect up the water a bit. I knew I got that Wet/Dry Vac for something...

I got myself some Michelin Winter mats and they grooves are really deep. The only problem I have is they are sooo deep, it makes the mat really thick, giving me less space for my feet. And the spave is already limited. Although, my fiance doesn't a difference since she's only 5'3" (eyeballs)

I ordered fancy "winter mats" from mats.com for my last vehicle. They were completely rectangular and didn't fit, even though I paid extra for "custom fit" and not "universal", so they didn't really fit. And they were expensive!
And the link "Mrbwa1" posted above is way cheaper than the dealer here, those were $75. (Thanks for the link, BTW)
And "Maple leaf", where did you get the Michelin mats from?

i have the OEM mats IMO they are too small pretty much useless
i also have the cargo liner, they pretty much useless they are very thin and does not cover the complete cargo area imo save your money and get something better.

The other day I was at Princess Auto and I think I saw a Cargo mat/bag selling for $12 I didnt buy bec I was in a hurry. These are the cargo mat that looks like a giant bag and when you spread it, it will open up into a mat. I think I will go there again on friday and buy. These will be real useful to keep inside the car for emergencies, you never know when you might need it. Neater than a tarp I'd say.

nothing beats the feel of the original summer mat. putting winter rubberized mat over it is like wrapping a computer keyboard with saran tape. I've decided to order a spare summer mats and exchange the clean one while the dirty ones undergo cleaning and drying.

Hmmm.... Don't think we'll ever use our Summer Mats. If you're interested, I would ship mine your way for less than a new set? (I have to double-check with the wife though if you are interested).

I bought the cargo liner and like it very much.
It's made out of heavy vinyl and kinds slips over the back of the 3rd row seatbacks and the spare tire cover.
Fits nicely, it's got cutouts for the seat realeases and allows the 3 row to be put up and down without removal, basically just install the thing and forget about it.
I think it was about 60 or 70 $can.
I started to get the debris trapped in the carpet that just wouldn't come out too, figured the cover would be a good idea.
