Wow, those are incredible, wmbeaver, how do you keep such a steady hand while panning?

Admittedly, my camera (Panasonic Lumix...) has a "Panning" feature, but I find that by keeping one eye on the viewfinder and both eyes open, I can keep fast moving cars in frame pretty easily, and it's actually a really natural movement to follow the target with my head, and therefore the camera.

Here's a few from last year's Mitty vintage race at Road Atlanta:

Whee! Point 2 pics...

I'm squashing the bejeesus out of the cone in the second pic! (boom07)

Fixed! :D

I know - that cone went all the way to the finish line I think and then the P5 spit it out....

A few from yesterday. The new suspension made it VERY interesting...

JA, none of you guys going around the end of the bottom sweeper / back up the hill? I'd LOVE to see how much wheel lift you had. The pro ST guys would pick it up as soon as they hit the brakes and carry it the entire length of the corner until you had to straighten up to head towards the horseshoe

So far I've not seen any shots from that section. Some folks who were watching us run said there was a lot less "tri-pod" action this go-round...

Also, we always preach to cut in on the back-side of the cone. Here's a little evidence that I'm practicing what I preach ;)

only a few inches off of the back-side corner of the cone ftw!

William, do you remember what part of the course that was? I can't really see enough detail to figure out where that is. I'm trying to figure out why there's that trail of tires smoke on the right. Probably a little hard on the brakes, but I don't know.

I think it's up on the wall near the TB turn, considering the number of cones and the angle.
