Turbine Tech Front Engine Mount

HEIL HITLER!!!!

Anyway..... so you went with the CP-E rear engine mount? I thought you were going with the AWR? perhaps that was someone else, who knows.... Anyone here have the WHOLE set from turbine tech front and diff mounts? I wanted to know how the whole car feels with it.

Haha...

Yeah, I inquired/researched a lot for the AWR, but in the end, calling CP-E made my decision. They gave me a lot of information and were so passionate in explaining the product that in the end, they forgot to sell it to me, I had to re-mention that I wanted to order it... to which they were like... "oh, yeah... sorry"

CP-Es, is supposed to be easy to live with and great quality. Another reason why I went with it was because the AWR 70d has been pulled from the shelves for some issue. The 88d is too stiff for me to even consider. Anyway, I got the package this morning, I'll check it out tonight... It will be installed this Saturday, at the latest.

Make sure and trim the factory mount tabs off instead of just jamming the mount in - unless CP-E figured this out already

Would it be helpful for anyone if I do a photo-accompanied install of the shifter bushings and rear engine mount? Because if it's something that hasn't been done here before, I'd be happy to lend some help to the community with a walk-through of each.

Yes. Please post pics. Prob should do it in a how-to though.

Yeah, I'm planning on doing a fairly detailed How-To on both the cp-e rear engine mount, and the twm shifter bushings... as well as a full review.

sbspeed - thanks for the tips on the tabs... I'll see if I can do something that won't require actually trimming it, like bending it then bending it back.

I don't think I'v ever noticed it on their site.... but does the package have any documentation that tells you what the durometer stiffness is?

Well they dont use urethane, instead its a high temp resistant rubber equivalent to 70d if I recall correctly. All I know is it smells good :)

lol @ smells good, that's nice to know.... so basically whatever they use pretty much puts it at equal to the AWR 70d mount, right?

^^^ reason why the search function on this forum has become worthless

There are impressions on
the instructions they provide are definitely detailed enough to follow correctly for anyone with common sense and just a tad of mechanical aptitude...

I first heard about it over at M6C, as they did a group buy on them when they first hit the market.

There's really no need for a how-to since they've got a step-by-step set of instructions that walk you through it. I'd suggest if you can't follow them then you don't try installing this on your car, since it involves dropping the driveshaft and gas tank slightly.

The search function on this forum actually is worthless... Half the time I can't find what I'm looking for.

I do like the mazda6 club search.... and since you said there are impressions over there on the rear diff, I guess I'll head over there. I just assumed someone in this thread had purchased the turbine tech differential mount also, or by itself.

Forgive my ignorance, I could understand the dropping of the driveshaft, but why exactly would you need to drop the gas tank? is there a bolt that it's blocking or something?

The purpose of dropping the tank is so you can get to the top bushing mount and more importantly the rear mount bracket/bushings.

I've got the whole setup installed - quite happy.

Shifting is very solid as the engine isn't rocking all over the place and the rearend just transmits torque to the ground instead of twisting/rotating.

Car feels very solid.

Ah, so I sorta figured, giving you better access to the bolts and stuff, thanks for letting me know.

and thanks for letting me know you have the WHOLE setup and how it feels. I think I'm gonna hold off on the exhaust and some other stuff, I think I really want this first.... Thanks :D
