505 Intake Manifold COMPLETED!

I was about to say the same thing as velocifero.....I'll give you $200 as a pre-order for one of the first completed manifolds.

Thanks a ton for the offer, but I don't want to take any pre-order funds from anyone at this time. As soon as the testing is complete and I know the design is 100% set, I will be taking half down deposits to get the ball rolling. Then when they are done, people can pay the other half and I will ship them out.

I have been trying to avoid tapping into my tied up savings for now, but I might just have to do it earlier than planned. Even taking half down deposits, I will have to pitch in my own funds to build this first batch.

I was hoping I could sell those pipes and that would give me enough extra to play around with to get the welding done and the proto EGR solution fabbed up, but oh well I guess. Not the end of the world, I'll still get it done.

Thanks again though man, hold onto those funds for the first batch GB that will be coming up real soon. The end is near!

btw just for the info he is a REALLY god seller someone buy his pipes, i got my mam ones fast and they were packed for a nuclear explosion.

(wiggle)

I had them packed good enough, and then unpacked and repacked extra good to make sure they wouldn't be banging around whatsoever. I was almost proud of that packing job, lol.

Rich, if you are in need, I still have 3 pipes with threads for EGR on them. I was using them for the manifolds. Don't know if it would be any help to you. They are male threads !

Thanks bro, I will be in touch about that... not quite sure yet.

Alright back on track here. Will be dropping off the new runner pipe at Kelly's tomorrow, and hopefully he'll have the revised floor plate done pronto style. Welding will go down in the next week, and then we just have to machine the injector bosses into the flange and make the vacuum ports.

God I can't wait to see this thing finished. (rockon)

damn, i was going to offer you my undying support, but all these 'hero's' offering up the moneys threw that out the window.

:)

i also have an EGR M20 fitting that i got off Focus a while back if you need any extras...

and as stated before, i will pitch in to get these done as a downpayment if needed...

Is this still just the prototype?

So when do we start the list, LOL? Any news on an EGR fitment? Placement probably isn't an issue as long as there isn't any fitment problems. Probably going to have to make a custom EGR line anyway.

Sweet, thank you. Like I said, I will need to get some deposits from you guys on the first batch, hopefully all that will start next week.

Yeah, the proto is still yet to be completed. Kelly is doing the machine work for me on the side after hours, and he has had a few rush projects for work that has been eating up his overtime.

In addition to that, the first runner pipe that I got ended up being a 1/16th too big when ovaled to meet up with the flange, and we had already made the floor plate to match that pipe. So that has to be re-done.

Making a fixture to hold the finished manifold at an angle for the injector holes has also proved to be tricky, if we machine those holes first, they will warp during welding and the injectors will not seal properly.

It's just taking awhile to figure all the little tricks out, once the proto is done all of that will be behind us and it will go quickly.

I am about 99% certain that the EGR solution I came up with will work flawlessly. You guys will be able to keep your stock tube as well. (rockon) I will be getting in touch with Antoine here on the first of march about renewing my AMM status, and we can start the list then. :)

I feel your pain on the manufacturing issues. It can be hard to work out what to machine before welding and what has to be done after and then it is a pain machining an assembly cos the other parts get in the way of clamps etc. Good luck with it though. I like everyone else here am looking forward to seeing the result.

Thanks Steed, yeah a lot of unexpected little things that I hadn't forseen popped up along the way, but the finish hurdle is coming up.

I will have new pics for you guys real soon, the new floor plate will be much better looking... when we made the first one, we made a tiny mistake with the width of the velocity stacks so they came out a little pointy. That has been corrected in the program, and the next plates will all have a perfectly rounded radius on the stacks. :D

Sweetness, i still want one rich as long as the stock egr pipe works. Ive been waiting for one like this to pop up on the protege market.
