03 Protege
whats up everyone. my name is Rob. im 26 from CT. i just bought an 03 protege a few weeks ago. so i joined this site and have been reading about different things. the project i was interested in the most was putting in blue gauge lights. but i guess to sand down the green film, id have to remove the needles. and from what i read, thats hard to do without breaking them. hmm..
well this site and the people seem great and im sure ill get ideas for other cool mods.
heres some pics of my car. this is the only car ive ever had that i liked this much!

o cool cool haha ya the snow sucked i have snow tires on my MSP though so it was fine... as far as the needles im sure as long as you are really careful you shouldn't have to much of a problem with them..

lol yea the storm sucked-i had to work in manchester and i dont have snow tires...so i had to use my moms hyunda(spelling sucks)-lol

I did this mod in a first gen Pro. You don't have to remove the needles. It's really simple. you have to remove the entire instrument panel and replace the bulbs in the back of it. Hope this helps.

hey turbo.. thanks for the hints but i read that in a later gen protege, there is a transparent green film under the gauge faces. so no matter what color bulbs you put in, it will always be green.
and supposedly you can sand away that green film, but to get to it, you have to remove the needles so you can get the faces off. can anyone confirm this for an 03 protege?
