2007 Sunlight Silver mazdaspeed 3
I've saved up some cash to put towards my car and I want the loudest and deepest but best performing exhaust made for the MS3.

I'm debating whether or not I should get the Mazdaspeed exhaust just to stay in warranty though.

What do you guys think? Is the MS Exhaust worth it? Does it sound good?

What do you sugges?(smash)

What are the laws in tx about exhaust? If you want the best performing and loudest exhaust you can try running no exhaust and see how you like that.

i custom built an exhaust for my msp. its 2.5 that converts into 3 with no mufflers, just pipe. its loud, deep, and awesome. i live in texas and there are plenty of places that will pass you no questions asked, i think austin is the only city going "green"

Corksport CBE with mide pipe and DP.. Beautiful fit & finish, not to mention, the most aggressive sounding setups out there.

Not a "green" issue so much as a noise pollution issue. I'm sure that many cities in TX have noise ordinances that could be enforced against someone running straight pipes. You will be at the whim of every cop around as to whether they stop and fine you. Just don't have any illegal in your car when you're stopped and I'm sure you can live with being stopped and fined once or twice. Personally, I think the level of noise you'd get with straight pipes is obnoxious. It's obnoxious on a big dump truck, a motorcycle, or any other source.

houston and dallas areas have emission testing. meaning you can't have anything illegal done with your exhaust system. of course that didn't stop me from putting a cutout on my MSP and running the exhaust strait out of the downpipe for years. many other proteges in houston and around have done the same. now thats loud.
but of course its illegal. i just never got caught. the emissions place never looked under the car and and actually for about 2 years i ran with an expired inspection sticker, and only got pulled over once for it (didn't get a ticket either). also had warranty work done on the car and never had issues at the dealer with it. so yeah. just a thought

Dump the DP. (five-0)

I have the TurboXS downpipe and racepipe. Took the car to a local shop and ripped off the stock exhaust and had them fab a mandrel bent 3" setup with no resonators or mufflers. The car is now very aggresive sounding and loud enough to get attention to say the least. I DID, however, lose a bit of bottom end but definetely made up for it in the mid to upper RPM range. I cant wait to hear and feel how the new PG manifold changes things.

my s*** is deep and loud, I love it. If you could only imagine an evo and an sti combined together and you get my ms3.

If you can even get it. Talked to Corksport, the next shipment of downpipes are going to go out end of March, early April. Who knows with the midpipes. And its getting tougher here in Texas. I went to several shops yesterday, none of them even wanted to look at my car once it was on the lift and they saw the cat on the midpipe.

When did you talk to them? My DP and mid pipe is int he mail now.

Got the email from them yesterday.

Hello Robert,

The cost for shipping on both parts is 18.22 and the parts together are $425. We are out of stock of the downpipe right now. We are estimating the production to be finished for the next batch towards the end of March.

Thanks
Derrick

I'm basically coming to the acceptance that there really isn't a reason to try and mod these cars. It was easier getting parts for my BMW...
