keeping the glass industry alive

Yay Boston.

Walk back to my car at 1:30am last night, parked on that bridge where Beacon St goes over Mass pike, not far from Kenmore Sq and see this:

Filed a police report, getting the glass replaced tomorrow. Nothing was stolen out of the glove box though! Maybe the alarm went off when they opened the door or somehow otherwise got spooked or the glovebox was hard to reach from outside the car. Who knows. Glass all over the passenger seat.

So not too bad overall, since the insurance covers all glass with $0 ded... still, a hassle!

I left the GPS mounting suction cup on the windshield, maybe that was a big mistake.

Sorry to hear Oleg....at least you got the $0 ded. and nothing was taken.

It's good they didn't take anything. there's this blurb I remember reading about how tinting windows helps prevent break-ins, not just by not letting people see in, but it helps strengthen glass.

Well, the glass breaks but the resistance to shattered shards falling everywhere decreases.

Yeah, I heard from a coworker that basically it makes things less messy for both the thief and the owner, since there aren't glass shards everywhere (and the thief just folds the window in or out).
