How can you tell if the Rear MM is broken or about about to give out?

I tried searching and there is only how to replace it, nothing saying how you can tell if it is broken.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

If its broken it will look broken and most likely your engine will be sitting on the ground.

You can take it out, go to the hospital, have them X-Ray it and look for hairline cracks if you're worried.

are you worried about the tranny mount breaking or the rear motor mount? the tranny mount is the one that has recalled. haven't seen a rear motor mount fail/break. if you tranny mount fails, your engine will be tilted to the driver side front headlight.

Ha Ha Ha Funny!!!!.......NO!!!(yawn)

There are engine mounts and the rear tranny mount.

The engine mounts support the engine, thus if one of these break, your engine will be tilted and you will hear clunks and such at start-up, driving, etc.

The tranny (rear) mount, controls the fwd/aft movement of the engine. If that one breaks all you will here are clunks during acceleration, shifting, etc...

Cool thanks, I was just wondering because I noticed our engines move alot under heavy accelertion and shifts.

YES!!! Check out this picture... My upgraded mount vs. the stock mount.

The stock mount has major movement that affects wheel hop and shifting. With the upgraded mount, my shifting became firm and engine responce was instant...

I highly recommend an upgraded tranny (rear) mount; if you don't mind slight vibes.
