Currently own a 2007 CX-7 GT AWD
Problam with transfer case.
History of Problems:
• First time at 3750 miles oil leak discovered on floor in garage at residence. Took to dealer and they had thought problem was oil filter leaking when actually it was coming from transfer case. Down time 1 day.
• Still having oil leak problem at 4175 miles, went into dealer and was diagnosed and determined leak coming from transfer case. Removal and replacement of transfer case was taking place at this time. Repairs started on 1/05/07 and completed on 2/06/07. Down time of 30 days.
• Around 9000 to 10,000 miles started developing oil leak from same location. Went back into dealership for repairs and was determined transfer case would have to be removed again and have new oil seals installed. Down time was approximately 7 days.
• At around 18,000 to 19,000 miles (sometime in November 2007) started hearing noise coming up through dash/center console. Took into dealer so they could diagnose what and where noise was coming from. They thought at this time there may be a noise from transmission but couldn’t do anything about it until I replaced the tires. Tires at this time (All 4) have prematurely worn causing road noise and needed replacing. Couldn’t replace tires at this time due to upcoming holidays. Just purchased new tires on 1/21/08 and then made an appointment with dealership to check noise from transmission that I was still having. On 1/28/08 and odometer at 22,575 took back to dealer for diagnosing. They have informed me that the transfer case will have to be removed and replaced again. This will be the third time transfer case is coming off. Currently at dealership for repairs due to waiting for parts (transfer case). Been in shop
5 days.
Total Amount Of Down To Date: 43 Days (Loaner was provided)
There have been other issues with this vehicle not related to transfer case and down time occurred.
Dealer has agreed that mine qualifies for the Lemon Law.
Currenty filing Lemon Law Claim through BBB
If I get my money back I want to move from the CX-7 to the CX-9. May look else where.
