ok....everything fit without cutting or removing anything....took the shop longer to do the turbo inlet than the fmic....fmic was pretty easy...

nice. yeah, keep the ducting on. just be careful, the piping can get CRAZY hott and if its touching the ducting, it may warp or melt it.

other then that, love your setup. that ATP Turbo Inlet is awesome !!! (drinks)

if you have a SRI, you should have nothing to worry about.

p.s. -- remember, the piping/intercooler hold pressure. it should be free of leaks and it certainly doesn't act as an intake.

not if you have a short ram intake. think about it, air enters through the intake, passes through the turbo ... go through hot side piping, then passes through intercooler, then goes through the cold side pipe, then passes through throttle body/plate which is connected to the intake manifold.

the PIPING is pressurized, if it wasn't, you would leak boost everywhere, if you even got past vacuum. If installed correctly, there would be no issues with you driving through a foot of water with a FMIC.

edit: and how would something get into the turbo? like i said, if you have a cold air intake and drive through a foot of water, risk of hydrolock goes up immensely. if you have a short ram intake (like the stock box) which is a good 3 feet from the ground, you will have no issues what-so-ever.

the ducting weighs all of 1-2 lbs. there is no use in removing it.

If the FMIC is submerged, no water will be sucked in. You would have to have some pretty wicked leaks in your IC or IC piping for that to be an issue.

correct. the purpose of an IC is for AIR to run through it, not get sucked in by the intercooler. The intercooler is a completely closed off system. Like CB08MS3 said, the only way to suck up water, is to have a very nasty leak. and even then, it might pull up mist, not large amounts of water.

Wha?

An FMIC has no effect on risk of hydrolock whatsoever. The intake's position does. Most FMICs are going to use an SRI, which is about the same risk as stock.
