I second what Maff Man said. I REALLY love those shots. I love that second skull shot so much. Hell, i'd even paypal you some money for a high-res of it. Shoot me a PM and let me know! I'd love to have that blown up and on my wall.

These are really nice. I like #3, too, but maybe #2 is the best. It looks like a panorama stitched from a number of shots. I think the image would be a bit better if the camera and tripod were placed atop the small pile of snow just on the other side of the fencing. That stuff is a little distracting and really muddies the composition. But the exposure and apparent dynamic range is really very nice. You get full winter sun, both direct and reflected off the snow/ice on one side; the intense red and yellow of the ship illuminated by full sun on the other. Great blue sky, too. Oh, and watch for that horizon...you want to make sure its level in all directions.

Finally, for posting on the forum I think it would help to keep the images to 800 pixes in width. You could then include a link to the full-size version on Flickr.

i kinda have mixed feelings about this one. obviously i adjusted the contrast maybe a little too much, but i still kinda like the effect it has, so idk

LOTUS!
<3 Favorite cars evar. We have one in our neighborhood (god knows why, it's a LOW income area, I'd NEVER park a Lotus there!) and I about peed myself when I got to talk to the owner (who was an a-hole, BTW. "internet entrepreneur" my butt). I wish I had a better photo of it but I was trying to "casually walk around the 'hood with a camera" and not "purposely stalk the Lotus to snap photos of it". ;3

Just realized I forgot to alter the plates. Meh.

I took this shot the other day of my roommate's PT Cruiser, but I just haven't figured out how I want to process it, outside of cloning out the leaves on the pavement. Alas, I wasn't able to install a copy of Lightroom a friend sent, so I'll see where CS2 takes me!

You like Loti (plural?) eh?

A buddy of mine let me borrow it for the weekend and I couldn't resist NOT taking some shots... ^^ That's my favorite.

You lucky dog!! I'd slaughter an ant farm to drive one of those. No, to just sit in one. I haven't learned to drive stick yet. :P But I've been obsessed with them for almost 4 years now, still haven't had a chance to do a shoot with one, but IMo they're fantastic and, compared to other sports cars, pretty affordable. :D

Well, I'm new to this forum, and I'm not going to read through 154 pages of posts...

But, I'm a professional photographer. Mostly I do fine art nudes and ghost towns, but I've been known to shoot editorial and commercial as well.

In case anyone cares, I shoot a Canon 5D, and I always have the 50mm f/1.4 and 200mm f/2 with me, as well as my 17-40L and 28-135 IS when I need more flexibility than a prime gives.

My most recent project is a breast cancer fine art nudes project to help women who have survived cancer find acceptance of their bodies. I can send links to anyone interested in PM, the site is obviously not work safe.

My main website is work safe, though.

Welcome to the site and welcome to the Photography thread. There are a few professionals but many passionate enthusiasts, including myself. I think to properly introduce yourself you'll have to post some images and a link to your work site, at the very least.

Be sure to check back often. Instead of reading through all those posts I can give you the quick run-down: This thread has posts about interesting subjects or images; people celebrating new equipment purchases; people asking for advice on techniques; and CC on recent images.

There's been photo contest threads from time to time but participation is inconsistent.

EDIT: Never mind...your site is here: Signature Digital Images

I'm going to take a guess here, but do you read the blog Strobist? It looks like its right up your alley.

I actually dont read Strobist on any regular basis, but it has good information.

Thanks for the welcome. When I do some shots worth posting, I'll put them up...I just didnt think pics of old ghost towns or naked 50 year old cancer survivors would really fit in a car forum ;)

There's actually a whole lot more of my "artistic" work on my deviantart gallery ... again, there are nudes there, but they're blocked if you're not a registered user.
