i thought this was interesting. if anybody ever has the need to upgrade injectors, we may require some specialty tools similar to this...

FSI injector installation tool kit

nylon brush to clean injector bore

install/puller hammer

tools to install new teflon sealing ring and support ring

I think its going to be awhile until we max these guys out. Are there any larger injectors available for us right now?

Yes a specialty tool is required. I can get the part number when I get home. It's in that consultant training program I got. You also have to trim a piece of plastic to get injector #3 out.

i dont think so at the moment. I don't think I'll ever be at the point to actually change injectors. This car isn't made to be taken that far, but, I thought it was interesting, with all of the specialty tools required.

I still think the Ford 4.6 Romeo DOHC ( Lincoln VIII & 96-99 Slobra ) had the most amount of speciality tools ive ever seen. When i was rebuilding my alumn motor, it costs me over $800 just for the special tools required to remove the upper valve train, cam chain and timing chain and camshafts. PITA!!!

Whats with removal of plastic for injector #3? Did you get that training kit when you bought that fuel pump removal tool?

The trimming is on the corner of a plastic tab on an oil separator. It's probably in the way on purpose. I would think it's removable, but the pic only shows the part to cut and how to cut it.

I got the program off ebay. Appearently the seller bought out a dealership library to sell it all on ebay, and I happened to sneak in a high bid in the last minute. It's just a cd-rom with alot of info and some tests about the speed 6. Goes into a descent amount of detail in some aspects, but somewhat lacking in others.

there are just now some injectors coming to market for the FSI motors so it may only be a matter of time.

It would seem to me that it's your duty to recoup losses and burn copies of the cd for forum members for a nominal fee
