i've seen guys aroiund here with D16 civics pull something like .75 to 1 degree per lbs of boost.. is this about right? shoudl there be a rpm setpoint i should start pulling timming off? like maybe from 5K and up or something?
and since im in the stone age over here.. not so simple. (uhm)not that simple. you really need to put it on a dyno w/ a knock amp to see how much timing to pull. so you can have as much timing as possible w/o detonation.
pulling timing blindly per boost can negate much of power the boost added.
yeah there is one.. i might be able to do something.. gonna think about this..my fault i thought i read you did have a dyno shop around there.
And dude you NEED at least 91 octane, or you're gonna be pulling SO much timing you'll make no power. Or you'll make power right before you shoot a piston through the hood.
Depending on how aggressively you want your Unichip tuned, you should be able to get away with just using 92 octane. But of course .. 93 octane is always best.
But sending it to JDM Sam is probably your best bet. Just make sure to include a list of all your mods and what grade of gas you typically use so that he knows what he's working with.
it says on their web sitew to use 93 octane fuel.. i dont have that here..
Dude, Sunoco and Ultramar sell 94 Octane in Canada
yes he does. www.*************.com
So once again where the **** is Arvida?!?!
That's cool you're canadian too, eh? Are you a seperatist?
Timing can't be done by a wideband. You need either a knock light, or a REALLY keen ear.
