How many mods to fuel cut?

Ok, so... From what Ive heard and read lately it seems the MS3 hits fuel cut rather easily. But What I am curious about it how many mods and what mods are causing it to lean out so fast. I plan on keeping the stock boost levels. At this moment I have CAI, BOV, and Test pipe. So far this hasnt caused any problems. Now I have a DP and a CBE coming in soon. Will adding these two mods cause me problems? If not would throwing in a FMIC do the trick? Im just curious. I kinda want to get all my bolt ons before upgrading the fuel pump if at all possible, if not, I guess Ill have to wait up on bolting up and fuel up.

from what I have seen on others mod lists, they have very limited mods. A TBE, Intake, MBC @ 18psi and cold weather will do the trick. But thats just from what I have been able to put together. Usually people do mods like this to prevent fuel car. Intake, MBC @ 18PSI, TBE (or downpipe or racepipe or whatever exhaust mod they have), ETC TMIC, PG FUEL PUMP.

i think its when we upgrade to the 3inch tbe

With me it was a BPV, intake, and very cold weather. Damn P2177 code.

But that code for burning to rich or lean right. Were talking about the sputtering and fuel cut. I just wish we could figure this out. Its really starting bug me so much that I am even thinking about going back to full stock and parting out everything.

I just installed a 3" DP and I have no issues!!! I hit 150MPH this morning with no issues at all in 54* weather. I do still have the stock CBE though...

This is a great thread, cause I am also wondering when I'm going to hit fuel cut issues. My next upgrade is the TMIC and I'm a little worried, though Ken at PG told me since I'm in Florida, I will never have fueling issues due to the warm Florida weather... Seems to be directly related to sub 40* weather.

Don't know about that man. I am in Miami, and I am having this issue.
Especially during idle.

How can you have fuel cut at idle...?
That sounds a little weird... I would have assumed you needed a load for that and be at high...higher RPM range.

The turbo is not even at positive pressure at idle...?
Are you sure its fuel cut and not a drivability/other issue?

Well, I was pertaining to the ruff idling. The sputtering affect. I do get what seems to be fuel cut under load at WOT. Only happens occasionally.

Knowledge, if you having rough idle, I think you need to check your spark plugs or something. That doesn't sound right.

If can remember correctly, Laloosh mentioned that that could be fuel pressure dropping. Why would you say the sparkies? What would cause that? I am not the only one having this issue...

maybe he assumes, rough idle = dirty sparks. O yea btw if you part out your tbe let me know how much for the dp, it has the hgih flow cat right?

Yes, has the high flow.

Well my car is going in for service on Sat, my TPMS Sensor one has gone bad. I am going to have them check out the sparkies and see that could be the issue. But have a feeling that that isn't the problem.

It did sputtter and it did cut fuel. I had been beating on the car that day, I guess the lack of fuel from constant fuel cuts was enough to trigger P2177(to lean). I really do think the weather screws with the MS3. We have had some really warm weather for the past 3 days and the car has been fine. No fuel cut and no sputtering.

So.. note to self. Stay out of boost when its cold outside. You know it barely hits the 40 degree mark here in cali. Only when I work late at night it does. So hopefully by the time i "should" get fuel cut, the weather will warm up and i will save up enough money for a fuel pump upgrade before it gets cold again.
Damn, how do you get fuel cut with just a TBE or just a CAI and BOV. Thats ridiculous. I gotta mod one piece at a time now.

Well I didn't get these prob with the CAI and BOV. Only when the TBE came into play. As a matter of fact, I am running the stock BPV at the moment.

anything over 15psi and its game over for me. I only have, intake, testpipe, and tmic right now. Damn cold weather. When its above 60degrees I can run 19psi and the car is flat stupid fast.
