I finally did it too!!

Took the car to the dealer today to get the alignment checked and get the rockblocker on the side mirrors replaced. Also did the 1st oil change last weekend. What a mess. Definitely not the easiest one I have done.

Still not sure. Tried it their way and still shorts out. Pulled it for now and will wait till the weather gets warmer. Tired of freezing my hands.

I've got one in my car, you'll have to check it out and compare it to your wiring method. Mine's worked fine for several months now (knock on wood).

Oil filter is in a pain-in-the-butt location, and after about 1 full turn all the oil starts flowing out all over the cross-member just below it, and down your arm, etc. I use a quart size zip-lock bag and put it around the filter before unscrewing to catch most of the oil, but some still drips. It's still easier to get to than a 90-97 Miata though. :)

Sounds very similiar to the location of the filter in my MPV. Oil dripped all over the place.

bruce, can i borrow your MAF from the p5 again? looks like mine took a crap on me, or at least i think it did...i'll call you later today, maybe we can hook up after work tomorrow? thanks man!

Had a blast today. Finally got to drive home from work with the top down. What a blast, man can hardly wait for spring.

Took the car up to Montreal last weekend and love ot on the highway. Did some hotfooting around Montreal.

Car was pretty dirty after I got home. Had to run to the carwash to clean it off.

Mark, the P5 is still on the road. Should be home sometime tonight, I hope!!.

I took my miata out of hibernation over the weekend.. we went on a short 10 mile fun run, shook off some of the dust.

I can't wait for spring either!

Let me know. I will bring it to the restaurant tomorrow.

Any updates Mark?
okay, from my research it appears that the symptoms i have...running good AF ratio at startup and once warm i go pig rich....could relate to the exhaust leak at the wastegate, which i'm assuming is also a "boost" leak (yes bruce, i found it behind the wastegate at the flange to the mani)...so it looks like i start ripping the turbo/down pipe off so i can get wastegate bolts, get that off and see what's going on....if your not doing anything tomorrow and want to join in the fun, i'll be in the garage by 8:30!! (boom01)

for your reading pleasure!
Boost leaks generally cause poor performance (loss of power) and a RICH condition as metered air is leaving the system while the fuel to be injected has already been calculated. Even if you can hit full boost (with a boost leak) you are losing out -- the turbo has to work overtime (spin faster) to maintain peak boost. This will tend to increase intake temps, too. So a boost leak, which will tend to make you run rich, can actually lead to detonation as well!
