ok well my car currently only has a tbe fuel pump and i just put on the 3.5ets

First of all, HOLY s*** does this intercooler make a difference. With just the tbe and pump my car would hold 14-15psi, now i just went for a test run and datalogged a couple of things. Hello boost cut again. The car is spiking mid 19s and holding 17-18 before it cuts out, get back on it and the boost slowly rises to 17ish. A/f ratios are stupid rich, once again mroe proof the cpe standback leans the car out with everything zeroed out. i am hitting a/f ratios as low as 9.3 after the 1-2 shift. The hover around the mid 10s low 11s through the powerband, after boost cut hits, the a/f ratios stay right around 11 to mid 11s which is perfect and drop down to the 10s after k
Attached is a chart, 1-5th before i came up on traffic.

its hard to read, but be patient with it and youll understand it. my cobb intake will be here shortly, the intake alone raises the boost another 1-2 psi, so i strongly feel that you dont even need a mbc to hold 17-18with this car. just get a i/tbe/ic/fuel pump/map clamp and your good to go. anyway, enough bs, more data

nah, but i am going to say this, this car feels just as fast as it did when i was i/tbe/ems18psi/fuel pump. once i add the intake and map clamp there is no doubt in my mind that i will be faster then the 111 trap ive hit in the past

Glad to hear you got the IC and are happy with it, wasted no time installing lol

im lost.....what is up with fuel cut?? how can we get rid of the cut fuel and keep the power all the way....? thought the fuel pump take care of that!?

i just got my fuel pump yesterday....didnt install it yet...its been rain like no tomorrow over here in california......

the fuel pump takes care of the sputtering when your maxing out the fuel system. i dotn have anything fooling the map clamp, i took out my ems so the car has no sensor clamped and is running factory tunning. As you kno anything aroudn 18psi on the map results in fuel cut

How is it the Cobb SRI is raising boost 1-2 psi but the MSCAI doesnt? Shorter runner?

when i took off my cpe intake to sell it, my car lost around 1-2 psi as well. i was holding 15-16 with i/tbe/fuel pump and then it went to 14-15 with tbe/fuel pump which now turned into 17 ish with tbe/fuelpump/ic. if you look at cobbs dyno of the sri, you see the boost raises over stock and holds longer and stronger.

That just goes to show you how crappy the stock boost control is. Any good PID based EBC will be able to hold the boost at the commanded value much better than the ECU AND be able to reduce boost spike.

Laloosh, why did you take the EMS off?

Laloosh, why did you take the EMS off?

i took off everything cpe on my car for a couple reasons. Some personal, others because i didnt like it.

The intake is great, i just dont like the company
The ems is a pos imho

go ahead, some1 warn me, ban me, call me a dick(blah)

I took my boost controller off too. I don't care what anyone says, the car does not like the boost controller on there, at least with the stock fuel pump. I would not recommend using a boost controller on this car, my car was still hiccuping like a mother fuc#er, it just doesn't feel right. I definately recommend you guys don't run any kind of boost controller (that includes cp-e ems) with a stock fuel pump, I know my car was running lean. Just use other bolt ons like laloosh said, fuel pump, intake, ic, cai, at least a rp, and the new protegegarage (even though I am not happy with them) manifold and you'll still probably run 110-113mph traps.

I have never experienced the type of crap I have with the mazdaspeed on my sr20det 240sx with just a boost controller on there and my 240 is running a 15 year old fuel pump.

i agree that you shouldnt up the boost to much without the pump. i have been having nothing but problems since the cold weather. In the summer, ZERO PROBLEMS. Car hates cold weather. bulls***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't get that cold out here and my car still hated it. It was mostly in the low 60's and my car felt like s***. Get the pump, I get the feeling you guys are going to regret it later down the line. I took my bc off and am just running a corksport testpipe now, car doesn't feel much slower at all.
