The STI is growing into me I really like the looks(shocked) but I just can't see me spending 36 thousand dollars on one of those. Like a couple of you said BMW territory and lets not forget about that sexy G37 Coupe!!

I usally think of srt-4 drivers as the pricks. STI drivers are usally Asian dudes around my way.

How could I forget the SRT-4 wankers? Most STi drivers are white up here and they think that there are the cats meow until they are humbled by my uncle's 01 M5 or 04 S/C'd GTO.

Very foolish comment a Subaru is not even in the same league as a BMW.
BMW is a German nobility period and a BMW 335i or better still the upcoming 135i can probably take out a stock 2008 STI and even if it was head to head,the shear quality,looks,style and finesse of the 135 would leave the Subaru trailing miles behind.
All we need to to is just wait for the British Topgear program to give us the track records and tests.Again its not all about speed though because a BMW is a BMW and at the end of the day 99% of the girls,women and men will get in a Bimmer if they were given the choice(mj)

BMW quality? The engines last forever, but the interiors...
I don't know if the newer bimmers, you know, like 02-03 and newer are that much better than the mid 90's models. Seriously, I want to know. I had a 92 325i, the first year of the E36 chassis, and the interior quality was garbage.

I am going to go with MikeyB on this seeing as how ive ridden in a 06 wrx (which is not the same) but he is right in saying that EVO/STi can be compared to BMW's and its in that territory. Because people compare the G35/37 to BMW and if your comparing this car to the G35/37 then its obvious being compared to the BMW.

The STI is beastly but also has its limits like any car. It just happens to be that a lot of people who buy fancy cars are asshats as he has stated.

I once had a late 90's mustang "pull" on my P5 when I had an exhaust on, he probably thought that he was super fast and could rip me a new asshole because I have an exhaust and am obviously looking to racen everyone and everything out there. I was trying to merge higheways and he thought he was cool. The P5 has its limits and power is one of them (when we took a really sharp turn and I passed him because of the P5's awesome suspension well thats a different story). But I did not try and "race" him at all. Again people are asshats no matter what. IT HAPPENS.

i think the E30 was the last of the "bulletproof reliability" BMWs...the last buleltproof 3-series, at least. i shudder to imagine the nightmare of a 15-year-old iDrive.

um, that's his opinion...how can it be "foolish?"

and "SHEER(!!) quality, looks, style and finesse" might be useful cruising mall parking lots for easily-impressed teenagers, but they don't get you down the road any faster.

I love my car it looks better than the Evo or Sti in and out and i would not trade it in or sell it for an extra 30-40hp and slightly better track times.
My car will be roughly 295hp stock by Feb with no boost controll,piggy back or internals and i bet the car can perform equal to if not as good as the EVO or STI on dry tar and around the circut and 0-60 assuming HP and torque was equal around 300.
Front wheel drives do not trail too far behind a 4x4 if driven to the limit by pros,around the circuit that is.On the other hand a RWD is not as good performing as a FWD around the circuit.As far as 0-60 is concerned,no problem we saw what the stock Mazda MS3 could do with the correct choice of radials.Bottom line is for 25K its good enough for me not to buy a STI or an EVO.
