Not likely.I hope this is the case! Ours will be worth more come trade-in time.
Not likely.
Actually, the most likely next MAZDASPEED vehicle will be the RX-8.....
Same thing was said about the MSP...Trust me..Its still just a semi cheap vehicle with a decent turbo..It will not Appreciate by any means..nor will it be sought after as a collectors item.how is that not likely? the fewer that are produced the more any of an individual product will be worth.

Its just a Turbo pocket rocket..It has a time and a place...Both are now.
That might be the case if the RX-8 weren't a rotary...but Mazda isn't willing to put that much money to up the power especially into the last year run for a slow selling RX-8. Plus there was already a Japanese mazdaspeed RX8 version with just some areo and suspension add-ons.
It's easy for Mazda to throw in the 2.3 turbo in any of their cars because it's arleady used in most of the Mazda's lineup and it's cheap to build and maintain. Which is why it would make sense to throw it in the MX-5 to compete directly with the Saturn/Solstice Turbos. As much as we would all love to see an MSRX-8 it's not in the cards right now for mazda...they're focused on a new rotary for a brand new design for the 2009 model...
It'll be worth something in 2020 when we're back down to 96 horsepower cars eekin' to get 35mpg. Come to think of it I should put it in storage now!

But they already had a MAZDASPEED Miata.....
Yes this is true, but that was the previous generation Miata. Mazda will come out with a new next gen mazdaspeed mx-5 because the miata sells well and towards the end of its production life mazda infuses certain models (low cost in mind) with more power and an overall more enticing package to keep interest peaked and cars leaving the lots.
They also already had a front drive turbo speed model (MSP) and you could argue that the MS3 is the next gen MSP.
