I need help on springs?

I am having a hard time deciding on what kind of springs I want for my 08 Speed3. What I am looking for is something that slams the car, basically to the top or mid of the tire. I was looking @ the cobb springs & H&R springs but I dont think that is going to be enough drop for me. Not sure if I should go with springs or with a coilover system. Some help with making the decision would be great. Thanks in advance.

If you have the funds, go for a coilover set-up. Coilovers are adjustable so you can control what drop you want (they combine strut/spring). Springs are much cheaper, but have a set drop (as you know).

I have Cobb on order. An inch is a pretty good drop since I dont want to scrape on anything.

yeah thats what I was thinking myself. I just want something that is a lil bit lower. Im thinking about going with the H&R springs.. I think they drop it 1.5" so that should be fine with me. Thanks for the response. I have always used a coilover system on previous cars and just kinda curious is all.

If you want an aggressive drop maybe Eibach Sportline springs and if you have the dough, go with coilovers.
Something you might also want to consider is what size wheel and tire package will you be going with.
If you do an aggressive drop with a big wheel and tire, you will have rubbing issue unless you roll the fender.

I will probably go with the Road Magnets when the time comes because I will be doing an 18X8 wheel and a 235/40 tire and I believe Road Magnet only drops 1.0 inches all around.

The other thing to consider is the spring rate (lb/in). Lowered springs are often (not necessarily, but usually) a much higher spring rate than stock. The stock dampers will be inappropriate for them, being too stiff in compression and too weak in rebound, with the result a strange bouncy ride. For best results, find springs with stock rate, or change springs and dampers together.
