I noticed today that in like 15 degrees my car get crapy mpg like I only got 280 miles on a full tank when i normaly would get like 370 to a tank???????
It removes the moisture removing ability which is the heart of a defrost system.threadjack
wait, so when I remove my AC system for autocross this year, it takes away defrost capabilities?
I don't think I'm alone here: I run my car with the A/C on at virtually all times in the summer. It has to do with most people starting their car and letting it idle to warm up and MAINLY with running the Defrost alot...The defrost mode actually runs the AC compressor and results in lower milage.
Ok I found out what the problem was. Its my IMRC sensor its gets stuck closed on our motors in very cold temps there is a recal i think for it but its happening more on the cx7's and ppl are reporting 16 mpg with the bad sensor. After the new one with the stronger spring is installed ppl can tell a big diffrence in power and mgp. All the IMRC ( Intake manifold runner control) dose is close off ports for starting and for more power at lower rpms and usualy makes the ceck engine light come on too.
