well i'm on my second motor, first one drank some h2o..

anyway i've put 1500 miles on my new motor and i'm getting a throttle position stuck open code, and the usual bank1 lean code... wtf???

took it to the dealer and they keep putting it off..
i finally got the service adviser to take my car in for next week...

till then... should i be concerned??

car is running fine..
only mods i got are MS CAI
and HR race springs... i know it doesn't matter(lmfao!)

if it is lean enough to throw a code, i would sure as hell not beat on it before it goes to get checked out !

dam that sucks... how did u get the water in ur engine?

aug. 8th in brooklyn.. donno if you guys care to remember but we had a crazy wild flash flood while i was stuck on the FDR highway... as i was heading for high ground... my CAI had a drink...

And some people in previous posts said that was an urban legend... Wow, Hydrolock- imagine that. Does that mean you're running a SRI now, or staying stock?

I see your sig says Mazdaspeed CAI, but maybe you added an AEM water bypass valve (water sock won't help when it floods), it's hard to think you'll put yourself in the same situation when it rains again.

nope I didnt learn my lesson MS CAI is on.. Forge bypass valve will be installed today, and CS full exhaust/PG turbo manifold on its way :) !!

Water bypass is not to be used on turbo cars. Check the description.

Sure, but show me a link with two side by side MS3s with the only difference are intakes (CAI vs SRI) and the CAI beats the SRI by >.02 seconds in the 1/4 mile, then I'll become a believer. Otherwise, I see it as extra weight. lol
