Display area all the way to the right

Hi all,

I just bought a cx-7 sport (everything base except for power seat and AWD) this weekend. One thing my wife and I noticed is that the area to the right of the radio information on the display is always blank. If you look hard, it appears that additional views should display (temperature perhaps?), however it does not on ours.

Is that because we have the base model? Or is something not working correctly?

Thanks.

That displays the interior set temperature and where the air is blowing for the auto climate control that is on the GT model.

It also shows the outside temp.

It does nothing in the Sport and Touring models. Though several people have tried to get the outside temp to display no one has been successful.

Turn on you fan(most Left button of the three under the stereo console block).

I had it the first time i bought mine and i was asking my self what is wrong with that. Just Nothing! As soon you turn your fan on it will display the temperature.

Alternative: Just hit the AMB button once or twice you should be able to display your outside temperature. If not then something may be wrong.

good luck

If he doesn't have the auto climate control, he won't have an AMB button.

In the US Auto climate control is only available on the Grand Touring models, where it is standard.

hidden display

on the upper left there are diplay symbols for the mpg and other trip computer stuff that didnt make it to the USA, Mazda just dosent like us over here

I plan on removing the whole display and putting in a small display to show all my car pc's stats and the current song/movie playing in that area. Since there will be no way to set the clock, no reason to have it there, and I can always check the touch screen with the car pc front end software for the time.

If it did display mpg and miles to empty, definitely keep it.

I disconnected that, and I got an Airbag light, I really don't want it plugged in.

I am going to try to keep the "Airbag off" indicator part and just remove the rest of it. We'll see how it goes when I get to the car PC though. LOL I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
