Illegal Tint Ticket

at least our emissoins tests are cake, and we don't get badgered too much for modifications. Isn't it illegal in California to have any modifications? I am happy with my 32% which was testes by a cop the first week I had it and read like 25%, but it was put on at a dealership after the law was passed, so the only tint they even carry was 32% or was it 35%, Korey? They pulled me over because we were leaving a bar I am pretty certain. Even though he claimed then that it was under assumption that the tint was too dark.

It's 35%.
I believe you're right about the cop's assumption of you being intoxicated.
He just needed any excuse to check if you were.

The cop put his balls on your window to see if the tint was too dark?
Damn, you're so GACC it hurts!

you have trouble with literature don't you? I never said he used his testes to test it, it was testes.

HAHA, the officer that gave me the ticket has been given a leave without pay for violation of squad car use. Maybe he won't show for court. But yeah 17%, I've got my original receipt from 04' and plan on taking it to court with me. I was more pissed that the ass said the reason behind pulling me over was for tint and tint alone.

i got pulled over for *just tint*... mine was 9% IIRC... bought the car that way... but i got off lucky. removed tint, ticket dropped.

i was pulled over in manchester for "illegal tint." funny thing is, the sun was going down, it was shaded...you have the city clerk's son and fire chief's daughter in the car...could you pick someone worse to pull over? it registered 30%...he said "i'll let that slide." right. if i hadn't had a couple of drinks in me, i would have went off.

Official GA Tint Law

thats the long hand version of the tint law for any of those wishing to read it. The short of it states that tint may be no darker than 32% (3% variance) on any piece of glass on the car...Furthermore you are not aloud any tint what so ever on the front glass top strip or not unless it is in bedded in the glass. Also the tint law covers mirror tint which says the tint may be no more than 20% light reflective.

I found what is was looking for as far as the court repealing the old law:
thats a ridiculous precedent to set by pretty much sayingt hat ANY state law has to apply to both residents and non-residents:bs:

Um, actually, most state laws do and should apply to anyone in the state, regardless of residence. It's just laws that set standards for portable property (cars) that should be specific to the state of residence.

BTW, Boston, what's the status of your ticket? Court date come up yet?

that's what I meant, laws specific to cars...or portable property, as you put it.

I'm not sure if i missed it but how much do you have to pay if they stop you for illegal tints????
