IIRC it is only about $150 less than MRSP.

The margins aren't that great on the Mazda's.

How much does the GS sell for in the states right now? I'm just curious considering all that talk on the news about our dollar being high but major companies keeping the profits instead of bringing price parity with our neighbours to the south.

They just had a report on the news about Acura Corp. forbidding their Amrican dealers from selling any cars to Canadians. That comes after they featured a story about a guy in Quebec going down south and saving exactly 17 000.00$ on his new Acura MDX (I think that's the car they were talking about). They even said that if they did still sell to Canadians, they would not honour the warranty which clearly states it is valid thoughout all of North America.

I'm wondering here if I got screwed by Mazda when buying my 5 GS model. We bought it for about 21 000$.

The States don't have GS or GT. They have Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. Some options are available here, some not - and vice versa.

I don't think that you can do a straight GS = Sport comparison, but you can check www.mazdausa.com for a look see.

The US MRSP (for MT) are:

Sport - $18,330
Touring - $19,945
Grand Touring - $22,095

I guess I would compare to the Sport model...Although, it is better equiped and costs less. Like I thought, we're getting screwed over here (pissed)
