TurboXS Downpipe $299.00

Ok I will try my best. I tried to take pictures but the batteries died in the camara so I wasnt able to take photos while doing the job. I will do my best on the write up and try to give some tips on what to do. Give me a day to do so.

You think one person, if I got a mechanically-inclined assistant, and rolled Akemi up on some ramps, could do this in a day? I'd love to get my car's dirt all over me and install my own stuff... Something car-otic about that. (godown)

Would be a good feeling knowing I did it, too, and can start building my skills in that area.

I think you could do it. I would take some time and one day should do it as long as you dont run into any serious problems. Doing it on the ramps though may be a pain in the ass. I had the lift and it took me 5 hours. My friend did his on his speed6 on ramps and took him about 9 hours. Now his is a lot harder of an install than the speed3's but I would tack on a couple of hours to my time if you would be doing it on ramps. Theres just not enough room to move underneath our cars. This is something you want to take your time with aswell cause if you mess up any of the sensores your looking at about 80-100 bucks for the cheap sensor and about 300-400 I think it was for the O2 Sensore. I didnt want to spend any more money so we made sure to take our time with takeing out those to sensors.

Hmm. It may well be worth it to call up the good-old-boy mechanic I had take all the cats off my 94 TBIRD (3 damned CATS) and weld 'er up with a new aftermarket exhaust. He could probably do a turbo-back setup in about an hour. I'm thinking more toward that, especially after reading the 'how-to' install a CBE, I don't have any cutting tools. I thought everything was just bolt/unbolt. Hmm. I'll have a Guinness and think it over.

(cheers)

Rob:

Got a call from Scott today. Didn't have a chance to call him back. You know if he's open tomorrow?

I know he's closed on Sunday's but he uses his cell phone for his business line. So he answers it quite often on the weekends too. I have this weekend off so let me know if I can help ya out in any way bud.

Nice, make sure that the gasket they give you matches up to the downpipe. They sent me the wrong gasket , that looks like it fit a WRX and I found that out after I installed the pipe.

im defintially going to pick up the dp and race pipe.. should be sick with the MBC and cobb sri

took a ride in cosmicblue's speed 3 from over on ************ and that thing was a little monster..3.25ets, mazdaspeed cai, racepipe and cat back. i was really impressed over stock.. cant wait for my stuff to come in!

and i would assume they know they are shipping out the wrong gaskets and anything ordered now should be correct? i would hate to set up an appointment to get them installed and have the wrong parts..(flame2)

If COBB doesn't come out with their downpipe by the time I get my MS3 I will be going with the Turbo XS. Hope they get the gasket issues worked out before then.

why ? turbo xs dp is crap.

the best DP on the Market right now is from CP-E. www.cp-e.com

its a 1 piece, so no need for a test pipe.

If you want a 2 piece design, Corksport and Protege Garage both make test pipes. Corksport also makes a dp. i would chose those two anyday over the turbo xs.
