Guys quick question...I'm going to buy the Axis Widetrack 18x8 60mmLip Wheels but they have a 40mm offset will that be fine???

215 may not fit an 8" rim well. You will have the stretched drifter tire look at all 4 corners if they do fit. Your rim lips will be sticking out waiting for every curb to scratch them. 245's are more appropriate for 8's. I don't know what offsets will fit I went with the stock replacement Ray's.

the tire will fit the rim, but the offset seems way too low. mazda like to use high offset wheels, and the stockers are probably around 60 or so. 40's gonna push those way out, and probably cause them to rub regardless of what size tire you put on them. if you want an 18x8, look for some rx8 rims.

I am running 18x8 OZ ultraleggera's with a 48mm offset and the rims sit right on the edge of the fender well–maybe a 1/4 inch inside the lip. 18x8 with a 40mm offset are going to stick out a bit and WILL rub, most likely in the rear. Also, don't plan on lowering your car at all. Mine is dropped and the rear wheels barely fit in the fender well when the springs are compressed over bumps, etc. I am also running stock 215/45/18 rubber.

If the rim was an 18x7.5 I'd say maybe but an 8" wheel with that offset will most likely be an issue.

Given this information, would you then say that an 18x8 wheel will fit a 235-245 tire properly, with a 48mm offset? Or will it require additional offset?

I was thinking of 18x8 or 18x8.5, which I think a lot of other people are considering. You've taken the plunge and tried out the 48mm with close results on the stock tire, how do you feel a wider tire will fare?

I think this will help a lot of us in putting the right shoes on this car.
